Bookshelf speakers for near-field (desktop) use
+1 @ seasdiamond good advice.Don't sell your Anthem 510. Whatever speakers you choose, having them on a desk means you absolutely need a correction tool. Arc2 is really good. Reflections make it impossible for any speaker to produce a flat respons...
A comparison between two DACs, one R-2R, the other ES 9038-based.
DSPeaker Antimode 2.0 is a (full range) room correction unit with built-in dac. I'm sure you can correct the sound according to your preferences much more with this than any dac on the market. Very useful for me.

No experience of your suggested speakers but I would say one or more big woofer(s) are good for your preferred music. To enjoy the true bass impact.
High resolution digital is dead. The best DAC's killed it.
@emcdadeWould be very interesting if you could give some more details regarding using Roon to upsample to DSD 512 and play back through your T+A DSD Dac. Can you do that with streaming music or only with your own library. New to DSD.
Where to hear ATC speakers
Just buy your woman some diamonds and the pro will pass. Real looks.

Single most important factor when testing is the volume. Needs to be within +/- 0.2 db. Sometimes a problem with stepped volume controls.
Advice on bookshelf speakers (Sierra 2, Buchardt, Monitor Audio, LS50)
ATC speakers have the headroom you need. The SCM19 model would be perfect for you. All the aliveness the LS50 miss. Sealed. Your Rythmik subs will be a perfect match. The new MA Studio also interesting but probably not hte headroom. Tannoy, Klipsc...
Where to hear ATC speakers
Would be nice if all of us had an ATC monitor/speaker at home as a common reference. I have the 12 (desktop) and 150 (main) models. Admit I listen to lots of others but they're always my references. Control, precision, dynamics, headroom, looks.

Thank you for this A/B test. More of the same please. I have myself still to hear a significant, or should I say interesting, difference between two alright dacs. Why spend 200 hours trying to find the smallest difference when you can change speak...

Burchart? Some entry level kit?
Anyone heard of Creative Sound Solutions?
Hi, old thread but would be great to know what happened?
Pro v Audiophile - Science v Snake Oil?
Sometimes I would say these forums tends to be a little unfair to the recordings made today. There are plenty of good examples from the past to find, but the general quality today is so much better it's no contest. Lot's of good work done in the s...
Big speakers in small room at moderate volume levels
Alright, I can see it’s time for a floorstander :-) Because you are sitting behind a desk, and your room isn’t that large I think you really need some room correction. I have the same situation. A small unit that is a really great tool and a step ...
Big speakers in small room at moderate volume levels
Since you’re so happy with the LS50, why don’t you try the Ref 1?I’m right now listening to the 201/2 model in a near-field setup and crossed at 100Hz. It delivers a huge, very dynamic and very detailed/transparent sound with maybe the best mid an...
