Bi-amp benefits with active crossover
Ok, gotcha I believe. This then is the problem unless the active crossovers (or filters that you guys were talking about above) are applied at the input, yes?...not the output. And if they were applied at the input, then all 10V would be available...
Bi-amp benefits with active crossover
@erik_squires Forgive me if I've failed to grasp something here that I did not know before, I'm feel sure it might be something simple, but I'm still having trouble discerning what that is. Can you elaborate a bit more for me here?If as you say "t...
Bi-amp benefits with active crossover
IOW, we only need consider an amp to be ’overworked’ by thinking purely in terms of its "output" (volume level), not its "input". That is, any crossover, passive or active, is perfectly sufficient to reduce the amp’s normal workload (as long as it...
Bi-amp benefits with active crossover
As long as you keep using your passive crossovers, then I'm afraid there is audibly not going to be any real-world justification for this change. None whatsoever IMHO. The reduction in bass frequencies are largely redundant here...and the only poi...
In listening to your system(s)...what is most crucial to your enjoyment?
I built my ($8k) system not to ’scale the summit’ by itself, per se, but primarily to avoid all the usual sorts of mistakes that I saw being imposed by manufacturers in the name of "costs", "practicality" or the "traditional approach" based more o...
In listening to your system(s)...what is most crucial to your enjoyment?
@whart +1When it's right and real sounding, it's either all too hard or it's all too easy to list all the individual things that matter. When you know you're there, it's really a total result overall.
Do you listen to equipment or music.
Sorry all. My post was a little over the top for this thread...had more than one Agon browser open and accidentally posted here thinking I was posting in another thread...oopsies My bad. Hope no one here was killed in the melee.AFA this topic goes...
Great New Linda Ronstadt Live
I noticed this one and wondered about it, thanks for the posts here!
What area or country do you live in ?
Not far from the rolling foothills of the Smokey Mountains in East Tennessee and a rolling stone’s throw from Chattanooga, the birthplace of the great Bessie Smith.
Which area of components to spend the most $ on? Boy I was wrong all my life!
@sbank , thanks for the kind words!
Which area of components to spend the most $ on? Boy I was wrong all my life!
When people first approach this hobby they tend to learn and accept it as a considerable number of rules...with maybe a few exceptions. After they've been at it a few decades they tend to accept it as a considerable number of exceptions...with may...
How did a bands' name originate?
Bad Company named themselves after they saw the Jeff Bridges western of the same name in 1972. BTW, the movie is still as good today as it was then.
High end in Tokyo?
Personally, I wouldn't dream of visiting Tokyo without trying to look up Kenrick Audio and seeing if they might even let me audition something, anything they might have on hand, if they do that sort of thing...I'm not even sure if they have a show...
Is it all in my head??
Roger on all that. Thanks.
