Vibration Tweaks
Spiking speakers has always been a good start. I use Black Diamond Racing cones and pucks. Brass or titanium cones with protective brass disks is another option. The ball bearing isolation products cost more but are said to be quite effective. I w...
Rules on Review...
Ttrhp, In that most of us have written reviews of our present systems, I think it will be hard to find any bad. If the reviewer has listed equipment they owned before so for comparision, you might be able to read into it a bit. I hope as this revi...
Free TWEAK that works
Bluenote, that was one big storm. It hit here too, I thought I was dead when the lightning made for one bad sound from my system. After turning on again today all is fine.Magasam, Footers are an odd thing. It seams with the Neuance footers can do ...
Any problems selling equipment outside of USA?
I have sold to Europe, Canada, Guam, Korea and Japan. No problems ever. People are either honest or not, nationality is not the reason.
Free TWEAK that works
Gunbie, the best results came from the largest I had, 1". The 3/4" was close but not as jaw dropping and the little ones were nothing great. I did not try larger bubbles (if they make them). Twl, I would guess the Cocobolo is a great match for ano...

Neuance, check out my review.
Free TWEAK that works
I'm a CD and SACD guy. Placement and room acoustics are the most important to get right. All the tweaks in the world will go to waste unless your set-up right. I place my speakers on the long wall, 1/5th into the room. The speakers are that distan...
Kasey Chambers; "Barricades and Brickwalls"
Twl, I'm not sure about vinyl. Fishinfool, I buy a lot of my music from cdconnection.com they have a huge selection to chose from, often times multiple import options and limited edition imports. The best thing about it is you can save your shoppi...
Free TWEAK that works
The quote does indeed make sense.I used to have a 6" sandstone base for my equipment to rest on. The problem as described to me is the ability of stone to "store" low frequency energy (high Q) and release it at unpredictable times. The same effect...
Technically, what causes "laid-back" or "up-front"
Often times it will be the speaker placement that effects this. It can also be cables, amps and front end. So the easy answer is everything. I've changed my system with footwers and cables to adjust the presentation.
Review: Dunlavy Audio Labs SC-IVa
Thank-you blackie, it helps to hear your thoughts. Can you maybe expound on the tonal changes your trying to achieve? I have often wondered how these mods would change the sound, to my ears the Dunlavy sound is extremely natural and right in the m...
Who Shot the Deputy?
Good one Ben, I think your right.
Black Diamond Racing Products I'm confused
It's not a marketing name. Black Diamond Racing makes carbon fiber equipment for sailboats. If you think audio is expensive and tweaky, try competitive sailing!
Improving reviews
Excellant idea Rives. I would add two things, music used and reference system tonal quality. Maybe on a sliding scale 1= dark, 5= neutral and 10= bright. Thank-you Nrchy for taking the discussions we all have had and try to use them. As we have di...
Review: Neuance Alpha & Beta shelf / Apollo Aria 455 rack Stand
This is a follow-up of a new shelf support idea. I was sitting in my music room the other day looking at a pile of bubble wrap that was protecting my latest toy (another story) when I got to thinking that bubble wrap might make a great support for...
