Paradigm Persona series
I have heard the Persona 5f.   Very clear and coherent sounding, whatever the technology it employs.  Other threads have described the series at some length.
Dynaudio Contour 30 vs Confidence C2 comparisons
I believe it was Kanta 2.  Notes started and especially stopped with a speed that was noticeable.  The dealer remarked that this is similar to electrostats.  Lower mid range and upper bass were a little lean IMO , but this did contribute to a tran...
Dynaudio Contour 30 vs Confidence C2 comparisons
I have heard the Contour 30 and Focal Kanta in the same system. The Focal has a somewhat more detailed but leaner sound.  Impressive speed and dynamics.  The Dyns were richer sounding with better bass.
Herron VTPH-2A, Herron VTSP-360 and Herron M2
Just to add, as I upgraded my Directstream dac firmware and Audirvana + software, the Herron easily transmits these improvements to the amp and speakers.  Sorry if blakcloud hasn't experienced an improvement.
Herron VTPH-2A, Herron VTSP-360 and Herron M2
I own the VTSP-3a R03: happy with this.  Having heard the newest pre+amp, they are somewhat clearer, fuller and more dynamic than the previous models(IMHO).  I may upgrade my Parasound A21 to the M2 at some point.
Focal Sopra 2 vs Sopra 3?
I heard the Sopra 2 at a local dealer using Sim Audio electronics. Very well integrated soundstage, effortless speed and dynamics, good slam through the midbass.  But the high frequencies, while not bright per se, had an intensity to my ears which...
How about the speaker comparison for Dyanudio Contour 1.3SE and Contour 1.8 MK II
Or add a subwoofer to the 1.3SEs...
Dynaudio or Ohm?
I think your characterization of the Dynaudio 260 is accurate: it is a great all around speaker that should be easy to position in your room. I have heard Shahinians, but not Ohms. I liked the Shahinians for Orchestral Music, and to fill a bigger ...
Vapor Sound Audio/tons of Value for $$$$
I listened to the Tuonare speaker last weekend. Huge soundstage, large, stable sweet spot, and fabulous bass that was so good I had to ask if the subwoofer was on- No. Somewhat mid to rear hall presentation, but I don't think the recording I demoed...
Devore or Harbeths to replace my ESL63s?
I have heard the Devore Super 8s sound lovely with warm sounding Leben electronics, but the 88 is also a little lean IMHO. Dynaudio Focus 260 by comparison had a more even tonal balance but lacked the quickness of the Devores. Harbeths with the Le...
JL Labs vs. REL
Then people, please share your experience with the older R series, thanks!
Is the Esoteric P03/D03 still relevant?
A friend owns a discontinued (x-3?) CD player which sounds great. Detailed yet non fatiguing as mentioned above. The analog circuitry remains superior even if the dac chip is old. Lack of a digital input limits flexibility in his unit. YMMV
Audio Research SP17 or Modwright LS100?
Thanks for the response. Enjoy your new preamp!
Audio Research SP17 or Modwright LS100?
Solo,I would appreciate it if you would be more specific about the sonic differences of these two preamps. I use a Resolution Audio Opus 21 directly into a Parasound A21 (Dynaudio speakers), but am thinking about adding a tube preamp. I've heard t...
B&W CDM9NT vs Dynaudio Focus 260II
In a room that size, I would add a subwoofer or look at one of the larger Focus models. I did hear the 260 at a dealer in a smaller room than yours, and was impressed. More even tonal balance than the B&W midpriced speakers that I have heard.
