Power Cords - Just Say Yes
Has anyone ever tried a slightly longer run of wire terminated with an IEC plug (panel>breaker>wire>IEC plug>component) instead of the usual situation where the wire is terminated at an outlet (panel>breaker>wire>outlet>plu...

Thiel CS6 Concrete front baffle
Tony,You must have a pair that was made after they made the switch, because there were definitely CS6's made with the concrete baffle. The Stereophile review and Thiel literature mention it.Alan2,You may want to just call Thiel and ask. They're al...

Rack/shelf for albums - suggestions please
If you google "Expedit records" you will see many pictures of the shelf full of records and toppled over. It probably has a lot to do with the size you get, how full of LPs yo pack it, and whether you attach it to the wall or not. I wouldn't doubt...
Eminent Technology ET-2 Tonearm Owners
You can’t put wear on the ET2 spindle or bearing. The spindle can only be damaged by driving over it with your car. I realize that moving the spindle back and forth in the manifold feels “very wrong” and “rough” without the pump. It feels like you...

Regarding changing the cartridge with the air pump on- I made a simple latch that locks the cueing shift to the cueing eccentric when you don't want the arm to move around on you. Using the latch with the pump on when changing cartridges eliminate...
Linear tracking vs. Pivoted tracking tone arms.
Lewm et al, theET2 definitely goes out of level in my experience on Oracles ( the worst ), Linn's etc. I don't think you can just slap an ET2 on an Oracle and expect it to work well. I bought my Delphi with the ET2 arm already optimized for it whi...
Linear tracking vs. Pivoted tracking tone arms.
If the linear tracking arm was to blame, then I guess all of the Walker tables, Rockports, and Kuzma Air Line tonearms are wearing out LPs left and right. Give me a break.
Moving VPI TNT, Wheaton Triplanar, Transfiguration
I don't know if I can take them on the plane with me though...any thoughts?I took an ET2 tonearm on a plane with me about 5 years ago. They opened the box, looked at it, looked at me very suspiciously, and said, "what is it?" I told them what it w...
Linear tracking vs. Pivoted tracking tone arms.
Atmasphere,Are you familiar with the ET2 arm? Its counterweight is decoupled in the horizontal plane which lowers its horizontal effective mass. I'm not sure if any other linear tracking arms have that feature.
VTA and HTA overhang
Ketchup, I was not aware of that feature on the ET arms. Very interestingIt is pretty cool. I don't know of any other arm with this feature. After I posted above, I realized that the height of the ET2 arm can also be adjusted to compensate for vin...
VTA and HTA overhang
The only way the offset would not move when adjusting VTA up or down is if the tonearm post was curved. The Eminent Technology ET 2 tonearm has a curved post for this exact reason. The part is called the arc block or VTA block. The arc block is sta...
