New Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL Preamplifer
I got to hear this at AXPONA and it was really something special. I have the M2Z as well and it definitely seemed like the new model had all of the positive traits from it - just done better. Very impressive.
Tekton Double Impacts
Hey Corelli,Did I read correctly you are in Grand Rapids, MI? If so, can I come and check these things out sometime? I've read too many positive attributes to not give them a listen. Thanks!Terry
Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
Mark - I wish you the best as you battle your health issues. Just a quick note others may be interested in. I picked up an 1800 from AXPONA and have 2 JC1's and my Exogal DAC and Mac Mini plugged into it. After letting it settle for a couple of da...
Parasound JC1 vs Plinius sb301
That's great to hear, and I appreciate the comparison. I had a Levinson 332 so I feel I have a good understanding of what you're saying.Thank you!
Thoughts on Burmester vs. Rowland
Thanks! The big room is a nice challenge to have - hence the bigger speakers :) Spectral is a solid idea, I'll have to check them out. I know they have some diehard fans.
Thoughts on Burmester vs. Rowland
Thanks for the input. The room is 30 x 18 with 15ft tall ceilings. I believe the sensitivity of the speakers is 88db, but I'm not 100% certain of that. The 956 is 240wats at 4ohm, not 500, so that is a sizeable difference. I've thought about addin...
Anyone listen to Pandora lately?
I have a modded Sonos running through an Exogal and I think it is decent with a paid subscription. Comparing Tidal on Sonos, Tidal is definitely better. And one step up again is Tidal streaming from a Mac mini...just more room and air around every...
Legacy LS10 speakers?
Hi guys,Your suspicions were the same as mine, especially with the offset design of the mids/highs.Legacy was kind enough to respond to me and no one there recognized them either.I will share this, though - they do sound pretty nice! A little roll...
which sub to get
Every REL sub I have heard has sounded very nice. A Revel b15 is a heck of a sub AND with its built-in EQ should be able to integrate well.
2-Way Advice: Magico S1,YG Carmal,Diablo Utopia
Take a listen to the Lawrence Violin speakers. Amazingly musical, especially given your music selection. They punch far above their weight class, IMO.
JL Audio 2nd sub - mix match F112 and F113?
Your subs need to match to sound best.Think of it this way. You have a 12" speaker that needs to move "x" amount in order to produce a certain note. You then have a 13" speaker that moves "y" to play that same note. Will you hear that difference? ...
B&W 802 Bass Removal
These are pressed in very tightly (nice build quality!). You have to get a small pick and just get it under the lip, and be ready, as it will come right out. I had to replace my drivers and just did this a few months ago.
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?
I am a huge metal and heavy rock fan, among other music vices :) I enjoy Opeth, Entombed, Amorphis, Slayer, Rage Against the Machine, all the way to Norah Jones, KT Tunstall, and Andreas Vollenwieder. Music comes in many flavors, no need to be pid...
Krell Evo 302 or Burmester 956 mk2
A Burmester amp with the rest of your gear should sound amazing. There is some serious synergy with their equipment, especially if you use balanced interconnects!
Plinus vs. Burmester amps
I have not heard the Plinius, but I know Burmester well. The strength of their gear is the immediacy and dynamics they produce. Imagaine a snare drum in real life. When it is hit hard, it kind of makes you jump a little. Burmester gear has that sa...
