The best speaker you ever heard? I looked at the Nola Grand, they do look like a very good design.
Review: Odyssey Audio Stratos Plus upgraded Amplifier This is an older thread. I would like to know if this a,p would do fine on my surrounds; they are quite high dollar do-pole, or bi-pole speakers and I bet I do not push the more than 100 watts into 8 ohms. I have a Parasound, which is a great amp ...
The best speaker you ever heard? Beveridge model X-1 with bass towers, and close the Infinity IRS in a very large room, which I preferred over the big Genesis. I also liked the early Magnaplaner speakers, the Tympani, then I was more impressed back in the early days.
Just Purchased Infinity RS2B / RSIIb owned RS 2.5 I sold all my ribbon speakers out of my RS2B and what I had left from the past. If anyone wants the RS2A/B bass contour, I have it packed and will sell it. I also have a JBL 553, which I prefer. No more bi-amp and tri-amp for me, so I am going to ...
upgrade from McCormack UDP1 Deluxe Hello, I had it a few years, purchased it here. I have to say, that is hard for me to answer, since I mainly used it as a transport to my ARC DAC2. This way it sounds very competitive with the Esoteric, but with SACDs, as I have to run it to my LS...
McCormack UPD-1 I Purchased an Oppo 105D now. Esoteric for music and now the Oppo for movies, that seems to cover the big system needs. I think I might sell the McCormack, then I think, I might keep it unless it is worth close to the deluxe model?.
Parasound HCA-2200II Runs Very Hot Hey dude, bet that amp is a dead dog now? It should have been repaired. Any sparks is a big no no.
Help with shopping for a power amp It seems I am not able to post thread on Audiogon. This one, being recent, I too have been looking for a power amplifier and was thinking of a Byrston, SST 4B, or a Classe CA 201, or never model. I am not going to the details of my system, but I s...
Review: Esoteric DV-50 CD Player Reading this, knowing it is an old thread, I would like to say I the Esoteric DV 50 and 60 are about the top of the heap for universal players. With SACD, I like the Krell SACD MKIII a bit more, yet with my system, audio only the Krell may balance...
Why do digital cables sound different? If a person Pays $5000 for a cable, they are going to have higher expectations. They sound better because one expects it to sound better.
Tara Labs IC range ? Which one to better RSC Prime Unless you are using $10,000 amplifier and a very high-end pre-amp, or perhaps a 300B single set-up, you are not really going to notice any real improvement over the RSC Prime.I have used these for year with excellent results, on both older McInto...
Belles 350a reference fireworks I power up ARC pre-amps, on mute, power on head gear used, power on DAC, then power on the power amplifiers. To shut down, I put the pre-amps in mute, power off the power amps, then power off the DAC, power of the head gear used, then power of the...
Classe SSP-25 vs. Proceed AVP These day the Classe SSP 25 is mire like a good deal for a nice preamp and you can set analogue inputs to play SACDs. I have two large HT systems, never used the Classe for video.I think the Proceed is more of a processor than mufti-channel pre=amp
BAT vk-55 or C-J LP66S I agree, having both, the BAT is more dynamic, while the CJ is more soft and lush.I prefer the CJ for smooth jazz fusion and classical piano, I use it with a CJ pre-amp and smaller speakers. The BAT is best for big dynamic and a large sound stage,...
Need your thoughts on Denon 3910 vs McCormack UDP1 My late thoughts: The McCormack has served me well for SACD and I think it still is a winner today. Funny thing, I have an old Sony ES, not a top of line one, but just a bit over the Best Buy quality; nevertheless, this output optical to my ARC ... |
