btwsg,Thanks! I also discovered that the Kuzma 4point9 fits my "Keel-Klone" Greenstreet sub-chassis. So, Kuzma in addition to Javelin. Not to mention the various, well-received Audio Origami arms.

I bought a used LP-12 with a Cirkus upgrade off e-Bay about 2 years ago. I already had a Linn Ittok LV-II arm. I upgraded the power supply and motor to a DC powered motor (Mober - see honmo2000 eBay seller). First time I’d heard a sustained piano ...

@williewonka yes, you are correct. I have decided to audition the lineup of 3T van den Hul cables over the next week. XLR is the connector of choice. I’ll post back once I’ve had a chance to listen. God, I hope I don’t fall for the Mountain. Walle...
inexpensive xlr vs expensive rca
As a test, I ran XLR Belden 8423/Neutrik from my JC-3+ into my #1 JC-2 input, and I ran a pair of Goertz Micro-Purl CU RCA from the JC-3+ to my #6 JC-2 input. While listening to the newly remastered 180G Pink Floyd Animals, I switched between inpu...
low-level background white noise - Parasound Halo JC-3+
I just realized I never followed up to this thread. I sent the unit to Parasound and they tested it and it met spec. Absolute first class warranty service. There was nothing wrong with the unit. It turned out to be the amps. I was using Emotiva XP...
Best Record You Have Ever heard
I’ve got over 600 vinyl albums (and 800 CDs/SACDs) and there are quite a few I think are stunning, but my favorite is:William Russo, Street Music, Op. 65, A Blues ConcertoSan Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Corky Siegel/Harmonica, Russo/PianoDeutsch...
low-level background white noise - Parasound Halo JC-3+
Thanks for the responses! I've been in a back and forth with Richard Schram at Parasound who graciously answered my support e-mail question himself on a Sunday. First class company.I think I may have an internal issue on the box itself as I've tri...
recommendations of phono preamps < $3000 range
I have a Parasound JC-3+ that takes input from a Dynavector XX2 MkII. Heaven. I also have an Ayre QB-9 DSD which I absolutely love, so you might want to look at the P5XE as nycjlee suggests. (I have not heard it)
Getting phantom image perfectly centered
I found the problem and I feel like an idiot. Remember, these are 4-way active x-o speakers completely built from scratch. I had mis-wired the polarity of 4" driver from the instructions. I'm not sure how I did that, but I let it go for months cha...
Getting phantom image perfectly centered
Thanks for all of the responses so far! As mentioned in my prior post, I moved the left speaker OUT and inch, and using a string (tape measure) moved the left speaker forward until it was equidistant to my ears as the right speaker. All is well no...
Getting phantom image perfectly centered
I do hear a bit of difference with the shade down. The image moves ever so slightly to the right, but still left of center. I ended up moving the speaker TOWARD the window about an inch or so, and into the room about an inch or so, and I now have ...
Entry level Phono Stage for Dynavector 10x5
On the second disk after setting up the JC-3+. Wow. wow. Very nice. Can't wait to see what happens after the caps break in.
Entry level Phono Stage for Dynavector 10x5
I just splurged on a Parasound Halo JC-3+ to replace my Dynavector P-75 MkII. The Halo won't be in until next week and I haven't heard one, yet. I'm listening to the P-75 right now being driven by an XX-2 MkII. That JC-3+ better be one hell of a r...
trim pots next to 12AX7s on VTL TL-5.5
I'm voting for phono stage adjustment, but I'm not sure. This preamp originally had the phono, but the prior owner removed it for whatever reason. I haven't noticed any sonic degradation, but I just wanted to make sure my tube life was maximized b...
