Looking for a high end integrated to suit Dynaudio contour 5.4's
@plb02, the Dart would be another good option if you can find a pre-loved example šŸ˜‰ - https://www.dartzeel.com/cth-8550/

Pass INT-30 or INT-60
Iā€™ve a-b compared the Pass XA-250.8/XP-20, Luxman M-900u/C-900u & Accuphase A-70/C-2850 separates with Harbeth 40th Anniversary speakers. In that shootout, I actually preferred Accuphase with the Harbeths. The Accuphase amps had the best blend...
Speaker spike feet?
Generally high end speakers which come with spikes are designed for them. That is to say, the spikes serve a two-fold purpose. First and foremost, to drain unwanted vibration (energy) from the cabinet into the floor by directly coupling to the flo...

I quite like the Yamaha gear. It is a cut above the vintage yammy gear of old and shows a good amount of investment on their part. Back in the day, Yamaha earned a legendary reputation in high fidelity, and it seems they're aiming to nip at the he...
CDs Vs LPs
@atmasphere What I meant is, there doesnā€™t seem to be a exact consensus on what the EQ curves should be for older recordings in particular. As I understand it that is because the Labels themselves changed the recording process over time. Sorry if ...
CDs Vs LPs
Great input @atmasphere . Just curious if you think all the EQ curves various high end manufacturers use (eg: RIAA, Decca, Columbia etc) are accurate taking into account vinyl pressings from the 40's and 50's through to the present day? That seems...

Another dark horse to consider is the Rowland Continuum S2 which ticks atleast three of your boxes...prodigious power (800 watts @ 4 ohms), has a HT bypass option & is in your budget. Rowland amps only come in their ubiquitous face plate, but ...

@tpreaves,Ā Fair enough. Thatā€™s another option for the OP to consider. There are lots of good tube integrateds out there like the Vac 160i. Though personally Iā€™m more of a ss guy these days.
Magico A3 vs. Focal Kanta 2
Comgrats on your new speakers @thyname! They look like very nice transducers šŸ‘.

@tpreaves, thier Integrated is only putting out 40 watts @4 ohms. Is that enough power for a full range, 4 ohm load with 87db efficiency? On the webpage it states ā€œThe V 40 SE is the perfect amp for speakers with an average efficiency ratingā€. And...

YW plb02. Yes lack of options with Accuphase face plate would be an issue for many, though the high US and AU retail pricing is the deal breaker for me. PM sent re: auditioning gear.
