good DAC under $1000
Paul has his new Tdac on sale right now for $900.00 and is supposed to be better than his previous Tadac. I know I'll be getting one soon.
Tube-amp for Magnepan?
I used my Tad 1000 monos (sadly no longer available) on "Gunned" 1.6's and SMGA's and the results were outstanding, even John, aka Peter Gunn oddly enough thought the bass from the Tad's sounded better than his Pass 250 The 1000's are rated at 100...
Soundcraftsman amps anyone????
My first amp was a Soundcraftsman PCR 800 which I purchased back in 1982 from Crazy Eddie's (anyone from the N.Y N.J area should be quite familiar with Crazy Eddie's)and was built to handle loads down to 2 ohms with no difficulty and you could act...
DAC advice
Just curious how long you listened to the Tad Predac for as it has only been out a few months now if that. From what I'm hearing it's supposed to be A giant killer and easily bests it's predescessor the Tadac which was no slouch. The reason I'm as...
Transmission line speakers
Morel Preludes with real bass down to 32Hz
Transmission line speakers
A very fine sounding T/L with real bass down to 32Hz
DAC instead of Pre-amp
Seriously consider Paul's new Tad Predac, it's supposed to be outstanding and betters the old Tadac
Pass amps with Tube pre-amps
I don't personally own a Pass amp but I did hear the x250 paired with a Hovland preamp and it sounded great
New monoblocs for Maxx II, which ones

Floor standers or Monitors?
I Hope I'm not straying too far off topic here but I'm currently using a pair of Morel Prelude 2 way xmission line floorstanders that go down to 34 hz (a true 34 hz) and also have an Adire Rava subwoofer that I was using with my previous speakrs Q...
Any Morel USA Prelude owners out there?
That is my experience as well with the Preludes: non fatiquing and very musical. Although I have not heard a great deal of "audiophile grade" speakers I can say I like these better then my quad 21L's and GR Research AV-1's which are no slouches. A...
Integrated amp for Quad 22L?
I'm definitely in agreement with you regarding the Cayin TAD-30 being an excellent amp as I still have mine and am reluctant to sell it. Mine only has the focus control, no extended bias and I am currently thinking about sending it back to him to ...
Integrated amp for Quad 22L?
The Cayin TAD-30 has been discontinued and is no longer being sold by Paul. You may be able to source the Cayin elsewhere but it won't have paul's mods. I would strongly suggest you reconsider the TAD-60 Paul does say it exceeds the Cayin sonicall...
Integrated amp for Quad 22L?
I don't know how my reply was posted twice, but anyway, don't be intimidated, biasing the tubes is a piece of cake. It really involves nothing more then hooking up a meter that I believe paul provides and turning a screw until it reads the proper ...
Integrated amp for Quad 22L?
You may want to check out the Tad-60 - there a few used ones for sale right here that are well within your price range. It is a versataile amp which can also be used as an integrated as well, and there are several gushing reviews for it right here...
