Anybody bold enough to try a voltage conversion on your own?
In answer to "marktomaras" question; not in my opinion. Hard to be certain, as I was unable to do a direct comparison. However, based on memory, both systems sounded the same in France as they did in the USA.
Anybody bold enough to try a voltage conversion on your own?
I have moved to Europe, from the USA, twice. Simply bought myself a 2 kW voltage converter/power stabilizer. Worked perfectly for me. You can use something like this:http://www.eastwestusastore.com/detail-3514-id-577-regulators.htmlAlternatively, ...
Oppo 105. Problems with crossover?

Do You Care About AESTHETICS? What Are Your Gear/Listening Room Preferences?...
I certainly think HiFi aesthetics are very important. Simple though it may sound, if something is visible in my home I want it to look good/beautiful. In fact, I have just assembled, what I consider to be, a truly beautiful and spectacular soundin...
Grading phono cartridges Part 2.
Wow, some serious hard work went into compiling this data. Very useful, many thanks.
Racks made of wood
In my opinions equipment racks do play an important role in overall sound quality, especially where turntables are concerned. As I said earlier I use a Core Audio Design plyKraft 3L rack with my TT. Feedback isolation at obscene volume levels is p...
Racks made of wood
If you budget will stretch this far, Core Audio Designs wooden racks are not only beautiful, incredibly well made, they are extremely functional. I use one with my Michell Engineering GyroDec turntable, absolutely rock solid. Furthermore, the owne...
2 channel to 5 channel question(s)
I use an Oppo UDP-205 feeding a Krell HTS 7.1 into a Krell TAS. The results on video and audio are excellent. I have no plans to upgrade this system. In my case, the Krell HTS 7.1 is simply acting as a glorified volume control (processing is done ...
How to replace FST Driver
Go to this B&W site and download the service manual for your speakers:http://bwgroupsupport.com/manuals/serviceIn my experience these service manuals are sufficiently detailed to be able to work out how to do a repair.
Please recommend a PreAmp for my 5.1 home theatre system
In my HT system I use an Oppo UDP-205 to do the processing, feeding the fixed analog 5.1 output into a Krell HTS 7.1. Audio processing in the Oppo is superb and the Krell is just acting as a glorified 5.1 volume control. Works perfectly for me and...
Really satisfied???
At the risk of sounding smug, I am. At the beginning of 2017 I decided to build a TT based system for my office. Turntable is a Michell Engineering GyroDec (full plinth, not the SE version) with an SME IV tonearm and Clear Audio Maestro V2 Ebony c...
OPPO 203
I have an Oppo UDP-205 that I use with a MacBook Air, via Audirvana Plus. I simply use the HDMI output on the Mac into the HDMI input on the Oppo. Works fine for me very time. Suggest you check the Audio MIDI Setup in the applications folder.
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017
To answer your question indirectly. I had a completely refurbished, mint condition,  Krell KSA-250 amplifier, sold it 5 years ago. The single most stupid mistake in my HiFi journey towards Nirvana I have ever made. Regretted the decision ever since.
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
I have been an audiophile for 50 years, during this time I have never heard speakers that can faithfully reproduce the sound of a live grand piano. I have heard some pretty impressive systems (read very expensive, $0.5 million and more) during thi...
I need to buy a complete system.
I assembled a $20k tube/computer audio/TT sytem at the beginning of this year and could not be happier with the results. See my previous post for system details:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/second-system-that-sounds-and-looks-spectacular...
