Tube or Trasistor
The tubes man! I dislike kt88 tubes. Also, tube preamp is the way to go with ss amp. Try a different set of tubes first. Then try a tube pre.
First investment into a turntable
200 -300 is a tough range. Older pl pioneer series are going for double that price. Same with vintage denon. Most of those are bullit proof. Look for a vintage Yamaha as you can find a decent direct drive for around 300-400 and they are very well ...
What’s in your system today that you also had 10 years ago?
Sansui 1000a tube receiver.jbl l-65a.denon dp-59l phonorega Saturn cdpReady for another 10 to 20 especially after a recent restore of Sansui.
Brands that have the least depreciation
Mcintosh for sure.
Picking a Tube integrated amp
Completely rebuilt Sansui 1000a. You’ll have 1100 into it and the sound is sublime. It blows my rogue away. The famous old Sansui iron is as good or better than today’s transformers. The level of detail and the amount of low end punch is stunning.
Really satisfied???
Been good for 20 yrs. jbl l65a, dynaco pas 3 pre amp, hafler dh-500, pioneer pl630 tt, rega saturn CD player. Couldn’t be happier! All that stuff combined won’t buy you a high end integrated today. Doubt it would sound as good anyway.

Are you getting ridiculous offers from new members
Yes. I am new but have been sellling on cl for a dozen years. The people today are actually abrasive, insulting and threatening. They tell you your asking price is crazy and you should drop dead. It’s always the younger, tough guys behind a keyboa...
