Ortofon 2M Bronze
There are differences and Ortofon chose a different motor so they have their reasons. May be silver wire vs. copper, who knows? But it was important enough that I'd go with Ortofon's recommendation.
Ortofon 2M Bronze
look at the specs bronze and black share same specs, red and blue share different spesbody is the same but your results will not be optimal
Ortofon 2M Bronze
The 2m Bronze and Black use a different magnet structure than the Red and Blue. If the Silver is similar to the Red and Blue, then the Bronze stylus will not be a premium match to your Silver. The 2m Red is a bonded elliptical diamond stylus, the ...
Should I replace my Conrad Johnson PV-2 with a McIntosh C-28
You'll never know if you like it better until you live w/ it for a while. If you're able to buy a nice example of the C28 for a good price, you can buy it knowing that in a few months or more you can resell it if it doesn't satisfy while making a ...
Whats your take on a NAD 3020, I truly believe it defined stereo and still does!
I have the NAD 7225PE receiver. They were able to squeeze out 25 wpc from the basic 3020 amp section. I has a very pleasant warm and peppy sound matched with Klipach KSB 3.1 bookshelf speakers. Great for listening to FM evening jazz and classical ...
Little Bear T7
If you like your T7, you could sell your 640p and purchase the highly rated Schiit Mani phono pre and have a big step up and keep your t7 for fun.Great review of it here on youtube, once you get beyond his accent.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta...
CD players and integrated amos
What tube cd/amp combo are you using? What ss cd/amp combo?Have you tried Freediver's suggestion on ss cd w/ tube amp? That seems to most promising in my mind as well.
Little Bear T7
How does it stand up against the 640p? How's it different?
Little Bear T7
What have you compared it to?I don't know about the T7, but the USA made Schiit Mani for $129 is pretty amazing. I contemplated a tube phono, but didn't want to turn on a tube phono pre and let it warm up each time I listen to an LP.
It's back!
The SP-10R is the one to get excited about.https://www.technics.com/us/products/reference-class/direct-drive-turntable-sp-10R.htmlhttps://thevinylfactory.com/features/technics-sp-10r-turntable-interview/
Upgrade from my internal Primaluna phono stage... Audio Alchemy PPA-1? What else?
I have a Norwegian Mystere IA-11 EL34 integrated amp. It is designed by Prima Luna (their sister company) and built to the same incredibly high standards of workmanship and uses PL's adaptive auto-bias circuitry. I have it matched to the Schiit Ma...
Schiit Mani - any opinions ?
I got a Mani 11 days ago. A distinctive step up from my economical Behringer phono pre. I've never had any other phono preamp so I can't qualify how good it is to others in and above its price range. I'm also not sure how long to get fully burned ...
Thorens TD-203 experiences?
I’ve had a Thorens TD203 w/ Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge for 2 months and absolutely love it. This is one dynamic sounding turntable w/ gobs of PRaT. Very clean, detailed, extended, tight rhythmic bass, airy highs, big soundstage. I really works for ...
Problem with Thorens TD-203 speed adjustment screws
rff000 said "I used an RPM app on my phone and that seemed to work OK."I never found the RPM app accurate. I’d get different readings depending how far I placed the phone from the plater spindle.
