Krell XD gear in the House Initial Impressions
There is no question that the original thread was an advertisement of Krell products, as is this one. I owned original KSA products. Enjoy ! MrD.
How do you properly set up a horn speaker
JohnK, you stated quite a while ago that you preferred Altec 19s over any Klipsch model. That is fine and dandy with me, as we disagree on that point, but I do not think you are suggesting that the 19s are good at nearfield listening. What horns a...
Nuforce STA200
Hey Jetter, Japol and all you other audio gents. Japol, if your STA is causing a hiss through your speakers, without anything connected to the amp's inputs, I would say this is not normal. Either the amp is defective, and / or, the amp, or the spe...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
I cannot believe people here are still communicating with this mzk " guy ". He is unwilling to try an aftermarket power cable, and listen for him / her self. Whatever is said to him, means absolutely nothing. He is doing what he does, as many befo...
How do you properly set up a horn speaker
Excellent info from Duke. I feel distance between the speakers ( horns, and in this case the 1.4s ) and the listener is very critical, and requires a greater amount of distance between the two. I am thinking the " honking thing " batman mentioned ...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Trolling, obviously. Never trying, or listening, for himself. I am done with this guy !
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
@mzkmxcv...….I am talking about power cables. Not understanding what you are questioning, but you obviously are like some of those naysayers I have stopped communicating with, over our differences of what power cables bring to the table. Enjoy ! MrD.
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Some of the differences heard : Increase in dynamic range; greater ability to hear finite details; smoother and more extended top end; deeper, fuller and greater extension of bottom end; easiness and flow of the music; instruments and vocals becam...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Going back 40 years, I have been replacing hard wired factory power cords with larger gauge wire on 100's of amplifiers ( such as Marantz model 15, Citation 12 and 16a, Phase Linear 400, SAE 2200, Nad 3020, Rotel RB850 or a Soundcraftsmen A400, CJ...
Nuforce STA200
Checking in. Japol, how are things going ? Hello to everyone else. Enjoy  MrD.
GaN-based Class D power amps
I believe the Merrill’s are priced per pair, not per monoblock, as posted. Enjoy ! MrD.
Nuforce STA200
Hi again all. Japol, if this shhhh sound is audible from your listening chair, again without anything connected to the amp’s input, through your speakers, I would not worry about it, although I understand the concern. Some of my other amps, specif...
Nuforce STA200
With either of my STA 200s connected to my Lascalas, at 104 db efficiency ( no input connected to amps ), they are dead quiet, as I hear no hiss or hum ( of course, the amps are on ). I did have issues with hum through a few preamps I owned ( own ...
Which power cords should I look at?
Abery, what piece of equipment will get this cord ? Keep in mind, Zu cables, like most, require long break in times to mature into optimum sq, 400 plus hours if I remember. Please report back your findings. Enjoy ! MrD.
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Geoff, lets not forget the iec and power connectors ( Furutech, Oyaide, Wattgate, etc.) used on the cables, for reasons you mentioned, that play a large part of what we are hearing as well. Enjoy ! MrD.
