My Long List of Amplifiers and My Personal Review of Each!
Hi WC, I have a quick question regarding cabling since you are on that topic. I'm proceeding with a purchase of the Gryphon Diablo 300 based on your suggestion for my B&W 803 Diamond speakers and subsequent auditioning (thanks for the tip), an...
AQ JitterBug with high-end music server/streamer and high-end DAC?
That's kind of what I expected.  I'll give the JitterBug a shot just because, as I have one already and once I get my higher end DAC and streamer, why not.
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Audiotroy, you make a stronger argument for Roon than the guy from Roon did when I quit the trial!
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Jsonsim, I guess I don’t have the need to consolidate multiple streamers, so based on your feedback I still don’t see the value of Roon.  How do they get to charge so much more than their competitors- some of whom offer free software players?  Peo...
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Good questions hgeifman.  Also good considerations Audiotroy (about the Gryphon DAC module having the older chip in it).  However, another HUGE dimension for me is not only sound quality, but sonic signature.  The Gryphon DAC module had a sonic si...
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Great feedback.  Glad to see a variety of opinions but it still seems the largest consensus is around the Innuous Zenith MKIII.  In general on the internet where there are lots of opinions  I usually base my opinions around patterns of consensus. ...
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Hgeifman, I checked the Innuous site and it appears you are correct - it is USB to DAC only.Just curious - do you see that as a disadvantage?
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
I just checked and it doesn’t appear that there are any Innuous dealers in Western Canada.  Any suggestions on Innuous dealers?  I noticed you can buy Innuous products directly on their website but they indicate the Mk III products are available f...
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Thanks again for all the replies.  Seems like there is lots of love for the Innous.  I hadn’t heard of that option so I will look into it further.
Top music streamer for 2019? Aurender N10’s?
Thanks for all the feedback and advice.  Rdk777, I hadn’t considered that the Gryphon DAC module doesn’t support MQA.  Are you saying that I would effectively need to consider a streamer that has an integrated DAC as well as the Gryphon DAC?  If s...
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300?
Xsparky you are probably right about overthinking the service risk.  One thing though is I think it is likely that only one or two areas of the Diablo are mil-spec.  I can’t imagine all components, relays, etc are mil-spec.  Could be just the PCB’...
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300?
When the time is right, I’d guess my budget for a turntable would be up to $12K.  But that could all change once I start exploring that avenue further and I become better acquainted with the options....But after this purchase I doubt that will be ...
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300?
One other thing to add about my second audition of the Gryphon.  I actually enjoyed the 802 D3 speakers much more once I put my finger on what was initially making me a bit uncertain about them.  Yes the midrange is more aggressive than the D2, bu...
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300?
All very good points.  I'll have to think on it!  I've had that exact issue happen to me in the past, where I had my upgrade path planned at the time of initial purchase and then when the time came I went to the shop and the key components were di...
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300?
I am a sucker for being upsold, careful :)  Yes I could consider the phono module as well, but my goal is to, at some point in the future, to get a great turntable and as such I am thinking I'd be better served with an external phono module, possi...
