Gotta love Nelson Pass
I have only owned the Pass XA30.8 and XP10 so my experience with all of the products are limited, but after spending quite a bit of his time discussing my desires/concerns with him, i recognized that he is not only a brilliant technical wizard, bu...

Distortion mystery -- MC cart mistracking? / transformer / head amp input saturation??
this is an interesting issue. I am very alert to distortion and will study it until i figure it out. (OCD for me). I have found that the first culprit usually is gunk on the cartridge which you indicated you checked. If you have a good magnifying ...
Have you ever tried a pair of speakers and said this Is the last thing I will ever need.
i haven't changed speakers too much over the years and not once after i got my Klipschorns set up about 15 years ago. These were always my top of the hill, and was very pleased with them. Not everyone likes Khorns but to me, they always filled my ...
How much gain is needed in a Phono Preamp for a 0.2 to 0.3mv low output moving coil?
i went with the RCM sensor II which worked well with my ZYX Universe II lomc. I had been using the ZYX artisan as my Phono preamp, but it just did not have enough gain(it is fixed). Mehran suggested (similar to another person on this thread) the s...

Rushton's DIY approach to ultrasonic record cleaning published by Positive Feedback
Terry, great thoughts, especially the relationship between spacing and wavelength. My approach was a little more experimental as i tested several parameters including spacing, temperature, etc but come up with similar experience. ALso agree on the...
