actually i would like to have a jewelers loop for that exact purpose, i'm pretty anal about some stuff too, especially on things i've spent alot of money on, so it wasn't meant to be an insult.
Verdier with Teres motor or else
my friend replaced his Verdier motor, with a VPI 300 rpm motor, and he likes the difference.

Jtim, not only is check your stylus everytime with a loop fanatical, but also pretty annal, however, i noticed you mentioned cleaning the zerodust with distilled water, i usually just wash mine under the sink with a little bit of dish soap or some...

Possible stylus damage to my DenonDL103
just because the cantilever become bent, or askewed, doesn't necessarily mean that the cartridge is ruined, give it the old infallible, listening test, if it sounds ok, then it's fine.

Which cartridge is the Imaging/soundstaging champ
Hey Jdolgin, i use the vpi supplied headshell weight, it adds about 5 grams to the headshell.

i wouldn't mount a shelter 501 on a jmw-9, in my experimentation, i've found the Dynavectory 17D2MK2 to be the best sounding cart. for the jmw9 arm, you should do more research on the dyna 17d, it is an amazing cart. at any price.

i don't think a moderator is particularly needed, only that you develop a sense of humor.
60 cycle hum
it probably has something to do with the cheap amplifiers you are running it through, i've never heard of a problem such as this.

i would second the Dyna 17D2, awesome, awesome, cart.
Lenco tables
i'm not sure really, he said he bought it online, i'm going to go over and check it out tonight, and i'll let you know, and he seriously may want to sell it also, i'll ask him.
best turntable under $5k
The VPI, scoutmaster, or even the superscoutmaster, would be an excellent table for the money.
