Uberwaltz, click the heart shaped “my collection “ bottom right in the Tidal app, then click the “gear wheel” icon top right.  You will then open the page to see the slide button to disable normalization loudness compensation. For my listening, I l...
Since my sabbatical
Bluesound Node 2i new is 499.00.  You can likely find the previous model for 300.00 or so.  You need a tablet or phone to run the BluOS app for control.Tidal Hi Fi is 19.99 per month.  Less than the price of just one new cd.
Advice Needed: Bluesound Node vs Vault
Here’s my thoughts to try: 1st disconnect all cables other than power and attempt reboot.  2nd see if you can download the update again.  I have the update installed and no problems.Hopefully you’ll get lucky.
Since my sabbatical
The most amazing thing to experience is a streamer plus a Tidal Hi Fi subscription.  Having an almost unlimited music library is mind boggling.  Imagine being able to listen to virtually any artist or piece of music that you want to.  Then decide ...

Node doesn’t need a wired connection.  2i version has dual band wi Fi.  It works perfectly for me.
TIDAL-Who knows what you are hearing? Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
A more important thing to do is turn off the loudness compensation unless you are listening to playlists all day long and want the levels matched. Not all hi rez recordings sound great.
adcom gfa-555mkII or W4S ST-500 ? old school vs semi-new school amp. opinions?
I owned a GFA 555 mk2 many years ago.  I didn’t like it at all.  The speakers at that time were JBL L112’s and Green Mountain Diamanté’s.  I purchased the Adcom primarily to power some subs I had.  Of course I had to hear it on the main speakers. ...
Tidal loudness normalization
All fine explanations.  So have you listened with the normalization defeated?  Do do you hear a difference? If so, do you have a preference?
Questions about Node 2i
I’ll try my best here.1. I have the Node 2i in my main system.  I’m utilizing the internal dac and I am pleasantly surprised with the sound quality.  I have the Vault 2 in my mountain home system which is a simpler less costly system.  Again, I am...
Stuff you bought on Audiogon, but never have seen another?
VAC 22.1 vacuum tube dac.  Hdcd decoding using the Pacific Microsonics pmd 1000 dac chip.  It doesn’t get a lot of use these days but still sounds decent.  An unusual piece for sure.
