Add the $75 Grado cartridge and you will have a fine start for LP listening!

The Schiit Mani phono stage is the one to buy!

No! The Saga is a passive stage with a buffered output. You need a PHONO stage. Schiit makes one. It connects to the AUX input on the Pioneer.

Any Love for the Pioneer PLX-1000 Yet?
+1 butlersride! I have a PLX1000 in my collection. It is indeed an excellent TT - and easily the best value under $1K! Audio snobs would like it more if it cost 2 - 3X its list price! At $700 it's serious competition to the Technics 1200.

An audiophilic music lovers Christmas!
Just received on Dec 24 the Prestige 7606 stereo LP "We'll Be Together Again" by Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt! Produced and recorded by Rudy Van Gelder! $4.99 + shipping!
Questions about stock Technics 1200GR OEM Phono cable
Some MM cartridges required MORE capacitance to tame a rising high frequency response! Years ago Spectro Acoustics made a preamp with variable capacitive loading to account for this. I had one!
Questions about stock Technics 1200GR OEM Phono cable
A phono cartridge with several hundred milli-henries of inductance (most mm's) will be sensitive to capacitive loading by the IC. Result: rolled-off high frequencies. MC's and MI's are immune to this!
Is it all in my head??
Polishing the blades on PC's with Copper Brite was a tweak I read about years ago!
Is it all in my head??
If PC's made a difference why are all the enthusiasts so unwilling to do this simple test?
Is it all in my head??
Now if someone snuck in overnight and replaced that new PC with the cheap original one (and you didn't notice), it is most likely that you would not hear any difference from the day before!
Is it all in my head??
Confirmation bias is a powerful mental force! Since you were subconsciously expecting a positive result, you indeed had a positive experience!
linn sondek tt
The so - called "upgrades" for the LP12 are just a way for Linn to extract money from the gullible! The plain basic LP12 has always sounded excellent! This I know from my 40 years experience with this TT!
