Is $18,000 enough for a high end HT?
There must be some real nasty movie theaters where you live.$5000.00 surely must be all Sony crap right?
How can I tell if authentic ProAc 2.5 or knockoffs
It should be obvious that they are or not. Just as Ben had said also the dust cap for the driver should have Proac on it. If none of these exsist I would say first of all, who is the guy? Are they for sale here at AG? I would go with your gut.
The Worst Speaker you have ever heard.
Any Wharfedale period!!!
Wharfedale Emerald 93 Opinions
OK, OK, I'll give. For $100 they may be an ok speaker. There, I said it.

IMHO the Wharfedale is one horrid line of speakers. They are constantly sold here at AG at a good profit for the seller. He buys them on U-Bid and sells them here for quite the mark up. They do not even come close to any model of the Paradigm line...

High End HT
Al I am going to say is many people sure have different ideas as to what hi-end means. I feel that the system described is mid level. Certainly nooo where near hi-end. Thats it.

Slappy, you just considered hardware. A "HIGH END" HT would have $18,000 in chairs alone. We are not talking great sound here. We are talking HIGH END HT, which by the way is just as much environment and video as it is sound. Just my 2 cents
Whats the coolest sounding movie?
I always like to use the opening scene of Cliffhanger when the Helicopter starts coming from the L reare then to the R rear to R front center and then Left Front. Usually people just start looking for a Helicopter. But I think the absolute best mo...
Best Stereo or Mono Amps under $1000
How about the Rogue 88??
2-Way Floorstander, $1500
I should have stated that my recommendation of the Proac Studio 250's was based on used price. I think they retail for about $4000.00 new.
2-Way Floorstander, $1500
I would look into the Proac studio line. Maybe the 250's are possible at that price.

I think it depends on how much of the work you can do yourself. If you do everything yourself and buy used equipment, you should have a decent HT system. $18,000 will buy a nice system, but this does not do anything for the room. The room itself h...
Music for "Tough Times"
First off it has to be a LP. And when I want chills all over my arms I crank up Aerosmith - Get your wings
Using Behringer MX602A Mixer with a Hafler DH-200
