Anyone have problems w/McIntosh warranty
Your comments remind me of a problem I have. The closest Mac dealer to me is 250 miles away, and I inquired from a dealer elswhere if he would sell me a C48 Pre, explaining my problem that no way was I driving 500 miles round trip to buy one. A da...
Replacement meters for Mcintosh MC2125
As near as I can recall, the circuit boards directly behind each meter are totally removable, and are strictly for each meter. You just have to unplug the wires leading to the meter. The IC's that have been mentioned are soldered in place, so Hifi...
Replacement meters for Mcintosh MC2125
All of the above responders gave you good advice. However, that model always had trouble with their meters. Mine used to intermittently quit working. As I stated in another post, there is a vertical circuit board directly behind each meter that is...
Broken Mcintosh Meters
I used to own a MC2125 30 yrs ago, and the one thing that used to drive me nuts was the meters constantly dropping off sporadically. My dealer gave me a tip, but it didn't solve the problem permanently. If you take off the top, you'll notice there...
Why my left speaker sounds louder then my right
I agree with Marco1, I am experiencing the same thing currently in my setup, and I do have hearing loss in my right ear. I just move the balance control to favor the right side and things now sound normal.
Bi-amping ADS L-1590 or L-1290
Mkaz13, do you have the manual for the PA-1? I need to locate one, or a copy of it.Alan
McIntosh MC2002 any good?
Yes, you defintely will enjoy the 2002 better. But the successor to the 2002 is the MC7200, and that is a huge improvement. I've owned them both, still have a 7200.
Changing a half-switched outlet to MIT Z-duplex.
You have 4 half-switched outlets, which means that those outlets have half-hot for the other portion. Shut off the power for that circuit at your panel. Take your outlet out of the wall, turn the power back on, and find which leg is hot all the ti...
What's up with that?
Swampwalker nailed it right on the head! Oh for the "old" Audiogon to come back!
What's up with ads for $70,000 speakers selling
I've also seen several ads here for newer McIntosh items selling for 1/4 of their original price, all sellers have 0 feedback, and all have Asian names, even tho based here in the US. As said before, if it's too good to be true,......buyer beware....
Waiting for Paypal
How is it that several of you say you have Paypal linked only to your credit card, yet when I tried it they would not allow me to send money until I linked a checking account? Can anyone enlighten me on this?
which flagship receiver
Go with an older unit, some of the best made, the Yamaha DSP-A1, or the RX-V1. Both are 5.1, has plenty of juice for your speakers, and can be had for $400 or less. I have the DSP-A1, and it's staying in my house until it dies!
McIntosh C35 opinions?
As far as the volume control noise I mentioned, I probably should've been a bit more specific. Your model and the C31V have the digital control and I could hear it "clicking" every time I raised or lowered the volume with the remote. That annoyed ...
McIntosh C35 opinions?
I haven't owned a C35, but have owned the C31V and C37. The C31V is more similar to yours, and my own personal opinion was that I disliked the digital volume control, which was noisy, but everything else was ok. The C37 is a better unit, but rare ...
Any McIntosh C48 owners out there?
Unfortunately, a financial crisis of sorts made me sell my beloved C48. Having gotten past that, if anyone knows of a used C48 for sale, please contact me. I missed that unit immensly, and am using a C15 until I can find another C48.Alan
