Do posters intend to hurt the feelings of other members?
Duh... this is social media baby... full of lovers, haters and everyone in between. Only one one piece of advice need be applied...”don’t take yourself or anyone else too seriously”.
Will a subwoofer add depth and clarity to my system, or just bass?
@jazz99From my perspective, a well integrated sub can do four things for you1.  Enlarge the soundstage2.  Improve the sense of ambiance3.  Balance a loudspeaker/room that seems too bright4.  Add a feeling of impactIf you have reasonable flexibili...
Belles Statement LA-01 preamp experiences?
@ruraltom As you know, David Belles has a quiet reputation for making great sounding gear that lasts for a long time...and that resells pretty easily.  Right now, I see that there is an LA-01 on US Audiomart for $1700 and a  Belles 22a on Ebay f...
Whats the deal?
b_limo Ok....this may be a little bit out there....but....Audio does not have to be a one dimensional hobby (sound).  For many, it can be a multidimensional medium that provides value/enjoyment with both sound and art and where we can appreciate...
An encounter and lesson in speaker prices ...
@blindjim +1 on the bose comments...no doubt that 40 years ago, Bose became at the very least a household familiarity...and even today, every time you go into a Costco or Sams...over by the TVs...there is a Bose set up displayed....so, it is not a...
Great deal on some Salks . . .
Hmmmm if the Salk SS8 non Be is $9k per pair...and the SS10 is $12k per pair....then it would seem that these new speakers might actually be $5k...but $5k per speaker....but I'm pretty sure they will sound great!
Stereo pre-amps with dual outs for bi-amping and a subwoofer line out
And if you don’t prefer a Parasound preamp, look at their Halo poweramps that have a preamp (passthrough) output.
Spatial Audio M3 Tubo S open baffle speaker review
@falconquestNice write up...and I'm not surprised by your findings.  I've posted this a few times but I had the chance to hear the M3s in Salt Lake at Clayton's assembly shop...which does not have a good listening area set up...and they sounded gr...
A New? Way to Buy Loudspeakers??
Since they just rolled this out a week or two ago, I suspect that there will be some tweaks in the months to come.  Its pretty interesting that they hired two phd engineers to develop this program...and I'm sure a bunch more to program it into the...
Small drivers vs big drivers
I'd add that there are a few other considerations to factor in that I've observed...from a listening perspective:1.  Are the listeners ears more sensitive to 30hz vs 80hz which will influence their overall perspective of the quality and quantity o...
A New? Way to Buy Loudspeakers??
I'm still thinking that if this an entry point for young people who only wear headphones...then midfi is better than nofi....and then later, they can always move up if they really get interested.
A New? Way to Buy Loudspeakers??
No doubt, it won't work for serious audiophiles....but is it clever enough to entice the 20 somethings into their first audio system...from which they can move up.  I'm not really sure because the young people today are often pulled or pushed in a...
A New? Way to Buy Loudspeakers??
I tried it with some $20 KA ZSA dual driver earphones....and what I noticed is that you can definitely hear difference in treble and bass....but obviously not enough to make a serious evaluation as to what to purchase.Since the younger generation ...
Tekton Design's new THE PERFECT SET equals "goosebumps time"
Reading through lots of threads on various forums, the one thing that seems common is that when it comes to the smaller companies, those primarily selling through the internet....there is a pretty good chance that if you call the company, you will...
