Hegel H300 still worth getting?
i had a lot of drop outs streaming tidal from my laptop so I bought a music server, got my laptop back and no more drop outs. the h360 doesn't decode mqa so the highest res we can get from tidal is 24/96 still very good.
Paradigm Personas: A First Listen
I got my threads mixed up,apologies.
Paradigm Personas: A First Listen
Not materials as much as transition from drivers. ricred1 I think I followed your path from the f52 to the salon2 and now the 9H? besides the active bass how else would you compare the speakers to each other? The 9H is much more than I can fit in ...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
I expect the speakers we read the most mixed reports about, say persona 3f goes from both ends of the scale some saying it's bright and unlistenable to the best speaker they've heard for the price to mean those are more room dependent ie less colo...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
Skyscraper i apologize for the late reply. To answer your question about how I made difficult speakers sound good well I kept bringing in different components and cables. most amps built to a price which at the time was nad, adcom, nak, B&K, a...
What do you consider the most musical speakers—$15000 & under
I heard the 2ce-ci? years ago There was a fairly new owner in the shop just looking for others to bask in the joy of listening to them, according to the new satisfied owner the rest of speaker manufacturers were wasting time. they sounded more lik...

9/23/18Got to demo the 3F's yesterday all I have to say is paradigm is close. IMO and compared to my home system they need to work on getting the output of the midrange to match the bass and tweeter and tonally the speaker will be there. Imaging a...
Amps for Paradigm Persona 3f
I heard the 3f's with new anthem gear yesterday and the demo was impressive, I have a little concern about the exaggerated bass output but I expect that was speaker design choice and had nothing to do with the amp. The patch for the 225i has the u...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
Mike, I have to second the above post. At the price we're shopping in even if you had a dealer nearby they're not crazy about shlepping $10k speakers to listeners homes unless they're more than a little confident of a sale. It was the reason I bou...
What is the best USED Speaker Under $10,000
I think Kef Uniq drivers are pretty even out to 30 deg off axis. Revel does work at making the off axis as linear as they can since the data shows first reflections play a significant role in what we hear and like. The speakers don't lack mid rang...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
I was at axpona in march and I was looking to spend about $10k on speakers I mean why not? the banks giving .1% on my money, well that lame a$$ excuse was enough to get my wife on board. I didn't care for most of the big speakers in the hotel room...
What is the best USED Speaker Under $10,000
Another thread the OP did what I did and bought a pair of revel salon2's. Someone posted he resold the salons pretty quick after raving about them. Revel is confident their spinorama is a foolproof path to musical perfection, but every speaker is ...
Hegel H360 or H590 or Constellation Inspiration Integrated 1.0 for Magico A3
The h360 has a decent dac also. I drive a pair of Salon2's with mine in a 17x28 basement room and only once had thermal protection kick in and mute output, I was listening to RHCP at +100 db and there was no clipping or audible distortion. Before ...
Amps for revel salon 2
BUMP, Levinson amps are used during the design and revels sound comparison testing so I wouldn't dismiss them, in fact mine were demoed on the big ML 400 watt monoblocks and sounded stunning! However being on a budget I kept the Hegel h360 I used ...
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre?
I find the speaker brands NOT on the list interesting! Some big names with class A /product of the year awards not on the list. but, on topic just about any british speaker still working from the 70's and 80's would fill the bill, no?
