Longest continuous playing songs
Let me get this right because it's still confusing the way you're describing your wants. Are you talking about about albums with no/minimal silence between songs?
Longest continuous playing songs
Blue Room-The Orb. This is the infamous 39:57 minute long song they put out in response to the 40:00 cap that was put on singles in the 90's. It's pretty great and it's never boring.
Freak Me Out
That is a GREAT album raytheprinter. Jonah Sharp is amazing. I have nearly everything he's ever produced.
young and new to analog.
Klipsch Heresy speakers are GREAT for rock, GREAT with tubes, easy to pick up used and I save the best for last...cheap. You really need to keep this speaker in mind.
"itunes cannot access CDDB server"
I think this issue has been fixed. You have quit and restarted itunes correct?

I just want to hear the song Meat Beat Manifesto sampled for Radio Babylon. I've never heard the source for this classic track. What Boney James song is that?

Movies that featured High End equipment
I'd be willing to bet that KRK studio monitors were in Juno and not B&W's. They are WAY more prevalent than B&W's in studios and they have bright yellow drivers.
I have a book recommendation for you all.
I'm going to grab a copy of this if I see it used since I'm pretty much a classical novice. Most of the classical I enjoy or own is on the non-traditional side...Reich, Riley, Stockhausen, Part, Glass, Xenakis, Satie, Kronos, etc. so I'll see if I...

Do you not even like Headhunters or Thrust. I can appreciate Maiden Voyage and records like these. It really is great if you give it a chance. Also one of the few SACD's I have that make good/inventive use of the surround format.
Herbie Hancock-Maiden Voyage
Empyrean Isles is the one if you like Maiden Voyage although I like his "weired" stuff too.
.wav to .flac conversion using MAC OS X
I agree with restock. iTunes & Lossless is the way to go. Do a batch conversion and just move the newly created files onto that backup disc.
