Denon DVD 2500 btci
does the Denon 2500 BTCI upsample dvd's? or is that something the avr would have to do? i'm wondering how dvd's look with this player, i.e. would the avr have to have both audio and video processing to work with this player?thanks.
phono preamp crackling
i promised i'd post a response once i figured out what was going on. i'm fairly sure i know where the cause of the crackling lies.first, some have speculated that i have noise in or around my system. there are no fluorescent lights nearby (at leas...
Well recorded records ... what are your picks?
john mayall, jazz/blues fusion. i heard it at my brother-in-laws and the recording was incredible. on the other hand, my copy sucks, likely because i played it to death in the 70's and 80's.
phono preamp crackling
as noted above, i do not have tubes in my system, ergo tubes are not the problem.i don't notice problems when i touch the controls of the preamp--i think the crackling is independent of that, so the preamp is likely not the problem. on the other h...
phono preamp crackling
thanks kg. i'll look into the ionoclast. i live in the deep north, and things will only get worse when winter arrives and my furnace kicks in.
phono preamp crackling
first, thank you for the replies.to photon46, yes it seemed that when i placed the phono preamp in different locations relative to the TT that the freq of the crackling noises would change. i'm no sure now however, read on.to audiofeil, if it is e...

gcph phono stage gain settings
thanks axel.and i did not mean to be critical of the gcph in general--i thought that perhaps my particular unit has a defect (it is b-stock). but it seems from your response that it is working as intended.j
gcph phono stage gain settings
thanks for the responses. yes, i have the impedance set at 47.someone at ps audio initially said not to turn the front gain knob past 1 o'clock, but i don't get much sound if i do.also, i get essentially no sound until the front knob is at 12. see...

Cambridge 840a volume ramping
thanks halcyon48. i didn't realize if i turned the knob while it's in standby mode it would change the volume.i too overrode the default setting. seems like it'll save on wear and tear too.i hated the clicking at first but i like it now too, partl...
dynaudio c1 serial numbers

set up question cambridge
i have the same issue. i have a cambridge 840a v2, 840c and dynaudio c1's. i have to turn the volume to half way to get moderate sound. beyond that it starts getting loud and at 2 o'clock is fairly loud. i spoke with matthew at audiopluss services...
