Tonearm comparison, Rega vs Zeta, anyone?
Bimasta, on some points we agree, others ..... well.I’ve had the RB300 on the Delphi for 4-5 years now, & there’s a number of things I like about it.The tonearm I had be for the Rega was a Syrinx LE1. I used it in conjuction with a MM Grace F9...
Tonearm comparison, Rega vs Zeta, anyone?
No worries viridian,I purposely left out the name of the table in an attept to get an unbias, broad sample lot based on personal experience, as opposed to a possible infiltration of conjecture based on speculation. But since you asked, I’m using an...
Getting into Tube Equipment
Ahoy Captain,& welcome to the world of vinyl. As some of the boys stated above, & a set-up I employ myself, a Tube pre-amp mated to a SS amp (an Audion Premier 2 box/MM pre-amp & Classe’ DR9), combines the sonic signature of 6922 tubes...
Calling all Oracle TT owners.
gregorytownsend I've looked at the Graham TA's, & I see there's a series of wire & pullies in their design. As Scotty said (Mr. Scott) "the fancier the plumbing the more likely to clog the drain"So I ask, aren't the Graham's fickle, &...
Replace a 0.5 mV Grado Reference Sonata 1 for a Dynavector-DV20X2-H 2.8 mV ???
Thx Yog,There's more info there than there is in the owner's manual, LOL.
Replace a 0.5 mV Grado Reference Sonata 1 for a Dynavector-DV20X2-H 2.8 mV ???
yogiboy Where did you find the preamp has an input sensitivity of 2 mv? I’ve been looking. As far as Grado is concerned, let me reiterate what I wrote in my post. "(which I may add IMHO the support at Grado was virtually ZERO)". I called Grado, ga...
Replace a 0.5 mV Grado Reference Sonata 1 for a Dynavector-DV20X2-H 2.8 mV ???
Sonata 1 Matt M,great input, some real relevance to your reply, but I'm a bit uncertain with your reponse - " I own both these cartridges ".Buy that do you mean a Sonata 1 & a  20x2 (low) or, did you mean Dynavectors....10X5 (high)...
Cartridges: Complete Scam?
Holly #x$& Madavid0, I can't believe some of the replies you're getting for a pertinent question. Some of these Files have got theirs heads right up there. Stevecham, " I choose to save my input for a more enlightened and deserving poster". ...
what speakers to buy
Can you give us approx dimension & configuration specs of your digs?
Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what?
Dear Brook, There's a number of points that need to be asked, so I'll start with this, where did you hear, and I quote you "they were supposed to have real punch in the low mid-range, so I could hear the upright Bass". - - - - - Klips...
Comparing Classe' Audio's DR9 with Krell's ksa300s
There's a potential alternative Dave. If you have the right set-up, bi-wire one amp in stereo to your woofers, & the other amp in stereo to your upper end.Bit extravagant but no more so than mono blocks.BillAny comments out there from the ...
Comparing Classe' Audio's DR9 with Krell's ksa300s
Dave, DR9's are not balanced, they are designed to operate in stereo & sound considerably more open, real, as well as transparent than they do in bridged mono even though they have the option to do so. I bought my DR9's as a pair,...
Comparing Classe' Audio's DR9 with Krell's ksa300s

Spend more money on the amp or the pre-amp?
OK lemaze .... here's another suggestion.Use the volume control on your Rega & run it straight through an amp.For $200-$300 dollars you can pick up a used Carver M400, or a David Hafler DH-200.An audio steel @ twice the price & both wil...
Spend more money on the amp or the pre-amp?
Not sure what your audio approach philosophy is here "lemaze", but I can tell you this, go after two rabbits at the same time - you'll wind up with neither one. In other words 1 good system is better than two mediocre.  At any rate it seems that...
