Best Subwoofer for 1500- 2500????
You just can't do better for great subs that are musical and have a ton of output. Extremely beautiful as well.
I need to be wowed
You said it would not be possible to home audition. Just my two cents, but home audition is really mandatory for speakers. Nothing any of us say or what you hear in a store will tell you what it will be like in your room for the long term. Whateve...
Need help choosing a monitor
In your price range take a listen to ACI's Jaguars. I haven't heard them myself, but I do own a pair of their Sapphire III LE which were a significant improvement over my Sonus Concertos. I have recently compared them in a friend's setup to a pair...
Best Budget Sub?
If music is your priority, you only real choices are REL or ACI. At under $1k, you'll have to find used or demo. Ome up with $1100 for a new ACI. Don't sell yourself short on an inferior sub, it will ruin your musical enjoyment.
Want sub to use with Magnepan 2.7' Mesa Baron Amp?
To match up with planars you need a great sub. The Titan II LE is a great sub. Took me a year of auditioning and researching subs to decide on the LE. Man am I glad I did. The only sub I heard that I'd rather own is the Aerial, and it is about 4 t...
What non-Linn sub would work with all-Linn setup?
Do searches here, at AA at AR and HD. Lots of great reviews at AR etc. Great reviews from Positive Feedback etc. I bought mine a bit less than a year ago after a LONG search for a great sub. It definitely meets my criteria. Accurate, powerful, gre...
Most compatable amp for ACI Sapphire III
Just use the speaker level inputs. A Titan II LE would be the logical choice, perfect match with the Sapphire IIIs. I love the combination! One of my friends just called them to order, they told him it would be at least a month, be prepared to wai...
Monitor speakers - choices to narrowed down to...
They blew away my Concertos. Very natural and open sounding. They really get with the music in a very cool way. They also are built to the 9999s and look totally cool.
Improving bass response
I was able to get a completely seamless transition. It didn't happen until the sub was completely broken in and it didn't happen until I got the setup right. Took me a couple weeks of adjusting. Once I got it, it was like the Concertos were differ...
Sub for Acoustats 2+2
An absolutely great sub. Has far exceeded my expectations. After over a year of trying to find a sub that wouldn't get in the way of the music this is definitely the one. Lots of flexibility with the filters/controls/inputs. Everyone comments on h...
ACI Titan II vs. Rel Storm III
Titan II LE by a mile! Tighter and more accurate than a Storm III. As much output as the $2500 REL Stadium. The Titan II LE is the real standard in reasonably priced musical subs. If you take the time, the integration is absolutely seamless. REL u...
need help with a subwoofer
Blkadr is right. The Titan II LE is one phenominal sub. REL used to be my reference until I tried the Titan. Less money, higher output, better quality, and fantastic looks. One of the two best audio purchases I've ever made.
Subwoofer ratings by Widescreen Review mag
Great information. Too bad they missed the two subs generally considered audiophile faves, the RELs and the ACI Titan IIs. I'd also be interested in seeing a "comparison" against the opinions in Stereophile
Speakers for the party system
120 people? That is pretty huge! That many people packed into 900 ft is going to soak up all the energy you can throw. I'd say some big horns or pro-sound types would be the way to go. Party on dude!
Monitor Speaker for CJ MV-55 - Need your advice
Well my Sapphire III LEs positively shine with my CAV 50. A big improvement over my previous Concertos. I am using a Titan II LE sub to take care of the very low frequencies. I have listened a fair amount without the sub, still a very good setup. ...
