Beatles Reissues on VINYL Finally
Thanks for the link Mofimadness - I especially like this sentence: "In 2013, the remastered albums will make their mono vinyl debuts".I am sure there will be lots of opinions about the sound quality of the stereo vinyl reissues, long before the mo...
Vinyl reissue labels to avoid?
"Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson" sounds wonderful on CD, and the CD sourced Jazz Wax reissue probably also sounds good despite the compressed source material. This same album was reissued by Speakers Corner, with analogue remastering, and it soun...
Vinyl reissue labels to avoid?
I have a few recent Music on Vinyl 180g jazz reissues which are quite decent, and according to their website, they use analogue masters:"As for our sources; We are provided with the best possible (analogue) masters available. On top of that, our s...
Transfiguration Phoenix
It is a wonderful cartridge, and I am greatly enjoying having it in my system. It makes you want to listen to more and more music.I suspect that there are only incremental differences between version III and the S, but I have not compared them (bu...
Nottingham TT - external power supply?
Thanks for the replies.I auditioned the Walker Audio Motor Controller, listening with and without it in the system. It provided a clearly audible improvement, with tighter base, more cleanly detailed midrange, and a softer and less etched treble.I...
Early digital recordings on vinyl vs. CD?
I found a digitally recorded jazz LP on my shelf from 1988 on the Canadian Sackville label. Jim Galloway, Ralph Sutton, Milt Hinton & Gus Johnson playing 'A Tribute to Louis Armstrong'. It is a real gem musically, and sounds wonderful. I am en...

Someone Know How To Set Up Spacearm?
Call the manufacturer in the UK! They must be very practiced at guiding people over the phone given their sparse documentation.
Nottingham vs. Wilson Benesch turntables?
I have finally ordered a TT - the Nottingham 294 with matching 12" arm.I have listened to several carts and narrowed the choice down to either a Benz Micro L2 wood (or a BM Copper), and an Ortofon Cadenza Black. I heard these in two different syst...
Record Cleaning Machine- Keith Monks or Loricraft?
I now have a Keith Monks Ruby RCM which I started using today. Wow, it really cleans that vinyl! I am not always getting enough suction according to the dial (-10 to -15), but records are completely dry after vacuuming. I am sure that it will take...
Philips vinyl pressings - France vs. Holland?

Philips vinyl pressings - France vs. Holland?
Many thanks!
Record Cleaning Machine- Keith Monks or Loricraft?
Thanks for sharing. A one step process with a quiet and efficient machine makes record cleaning look more than tolerable.I think that the one brush current production KM Classic is the right choice for me.
Record Cleaning Machine- Keith Monks or Loricraft?
Are you using the Monks discOvery fluid as one step, i.e. without a water rinse after the cleaning? The reviews seem to also describe a one step process. If this is the case, does it make more sense to get the Classic with it's one brush configura...
