Have you ever downgraded deliberately?
Downgrade I'm not sure about but space limits made me get rid of my B&W 801 S2's. Not really fair putting SVS gear up against the Beemers but they are rocking my smaller space and sounding very musical and fun. I'm missing nothing.Tv and movie...
Bryston 2WSB switch box to choose amp that drives speakers
That's a great price Al. I like that it has an off position in the middle, no way for the two amps to be mixed. This whole thing may seem crazy to some but I'm really looking forward to being able to just flick a switch for what amp I want to use....
Bryston 2WSB switch box to choose amp that drives speakers
Thanks again Al for really digging in there to help out!! I think there's two versions of Bryston's switch so that may be the difference between common + or - rails. Regardless...probably not safe either way. I looked at Nile's site and their DPS-...

Bryston 2WSB switch box to choose amp that drives speakers
Al I really appreciate your looking into to this to that degree! This is really quite maddening that there isn't a quality switch that can accommodate it. I mean really I'm just looking for a four pole double throw switch that won't muck up the so...
Bryston 2WSB switch box to choose amp that drives speakers
LOL I could use more exercise but I switch back and forth so often that it's a real pain in the arse, to the point where often I don't even bother connecting the good amp. The reason I do this is because the good amp runs in class a, so it's very ...
Is there actually a difference?
tomfoolery,Very interesting info, I'm not familiar with level matching....will have to look into that. And this is a great discussion for me as it's primarily what I'm concentrating my efforts on now. Here's been my experiences...just my two penni...
Is there actually a difference?
I have two SS amps in my system that I swap back and forth. Perhaps not a fair comparison but one is a Threshold S200 I use for serious music listening and the other is a Parasound Zamp V3 which is used for casual listening and tv. The Zamp is ver...
One system, two amps...one for tv and the other for music
Thanks Al, I've got a set of Acoustic Zen Hologram II speaker cables coming on Tuesday that I was going to use for this. Disaster averted so I really appreciate your taking the time to confirm my fears. I'm sure I'll still enjoy the new cables on ...
One system, two amps...one for tv and the other for music
Yeah I was thinking of going that route, was looking to upgrade the speaker cable anyway, getting better ones for the Threshold obviously. But the sheer convenience of just powering up the amp I want to use is tempting. Thanks Dan
How much do I need to spend to get a preamp that sounds better than no preamp?
Lots of chatter lately about the pre or not to pre debate. I tried the direct source to amp route and was immediately impressed by the increased level of detail. After listening to it like this for about a month the music started sounding dull and...
Parasound Zpre3 anyone?
Hi Erik,I've read great things about the Zdac too, if it had remote volume...teamed up with a Zamp3 it would be hard to beat for the money. Tim

reply from Aurender support: VU meter is mainly cosmetic. We do have a plan to make it smooth, but we don’t have exact schedule.
Aurender, wich one? Upgrading from a Mac mini
I just upgraded from a late model MacBook with Audirvana to a N100h and I’m very happy with this move. Sonically the differences are tangible and you can’t beat the convenience. I’m just streaming Tidal now until I can rip the hundreds of cd’s tha...
Aurender N100h vs. SOtM sms-200 Ultra
2 hours in on my new N100h and I couldn’t be more impressed. This is by far the biggest upgrade of any system I’ve had. Totally blow the MacBook/Audirvana out of the water!!!
