Bryston 4B gets HOT. Should I leave it on?
after rereading this thread i realized that i need to add this bit; I had used 4B amps for over 23 years, but within the last year have switched to 7B and 3B and PP120 [witch is ½ of a 3B]
Bryston 4B gets HOT. Should I leave it on?
I didn't think anyone was interested. I'll try to make sense; I have 6 mono amps and 2 stereo amps total. Each side has ½ the above [3 mono and 1 stereo] this gives 5 ways times two channels* [*commonly called- stereo, right and left] i call the 5...
Time coherence - how important and what speakers?
hello, perhaps this is somewhat of an off topic question, concerning crossovers I have been under the impression that a 4th order linkwitz-riley electronic crossover was a far superior choice for auido production/reproduction of music, especially ...
Bryston 3B
these originated in 1977 and were purposly underrated, infact every 4B made was 280 watts per side plus or minus 4 watts, during that time they came rated at 200, then 250 watts [but the output remained unchanged], in the case of the 3B I THINK it...
bryston ST and NRB question
its a little late but this info fits your question exactly but not totally:the differences between the NRB and the first ST are partly available in the NRB when using the balanced inputs. The exact explaination is available in the Bryston publishe...
Bryston Vs Theta
you can buy into Bryston through audiogon, use them as long as you like and easily sell them again, all the time covered by 100% parts and labour and return shipping [if needed] all at a net cost of nearly nothing, I don't know anything about Thet...
Bryston 4B gets HOT. Should I leave it on?
I've owned 4B's over 23 years, they depend upon lots of unrestricted air movement for cooling, put one in a closed in area and it will get too hot to touch! they produce a lot of power, and summer, heavy use, restricted air all can and do add to t...
Should I upgrade my pre-amp?
Bryston preamps are always available right here very inexpensivly, for all but the current models. Its hard to think of a component under warranty as aged. In fact its hard to think of a component under warranty, never mind tranferrable for 20 years.
Antiskate couter weight for Ariston rd 11 E
it has been a long time, did your Ariston come with a tonearm? If not you will need to I.D. the one you have as what you want to know will be concerning it, not your AATT. I think my RD IIs had no Ariston Audio tonearm available whatsoever. {altho...
High End Components - How long do they last?
PROOF THAT SOME THINGS LAST FOREVER;here is my chance to share some long time experiance. 23 years ago I bought a used Bryston 4B, at that time they came with a transferable 3 year warranty. [i bet a lot of you never knew that] after about 8 years...
Will people buy Snake Oil?
the original was blacklisted. It seems it became the most likely candidate in the mysterious death of family pets. Turns out the main ingredient was ethylene glycol laced with corn starch for thickener. The less known property of resistance to upp...
