What makes a 20A IEC rated for 20 amps?
Ozzy, I think this is a really great question. I had never even considered it, and I have been in the hobby for 45 years. I can’t answer it, but it seems a totally original, and thoughtful, question that is a respite from all of the repetitive, “S...
Vinyl***What If***
Agree with Williewonka as well, and I love my vinyl collection and have five turntables. IMHO, the money is better spent on upgrading your digital front end, or spending the funds on software.I’m all for experimenting, but experimenting with new ...

Compliance is the stiffness of the suspension. The moving system of the tonearm/cartridge can be modeled as a weight on top of a spring. The weight being the effective mass of the moving system and the stiffness of the spring being the compliance ...

"New" Thorens 124 sounds great, but...
Thorens also made a non magnetic platter, known as the Zamac platter. It is a bit lighter than the steel platter, but has no magnetic attraction. It uses the same aluminum topper as the steel platter. One thing that folks do is put a felt turntable...
Am I deaf?
Just idly speculating, but it may take more than five minutes to break in.
What is your experience with the law of diminishing returns ?
I got pulled over by a squad car for breaking it.
Turntables
Kreber my condolences on the loss of your husband. Unless you are comfortable with packing, and shipping, stereo components, it might pose a challenge to you. You may find that selling locally by posting an ad on Craigslist, for free, is an easier...
