How expensive are best NOS tubes ? And how difficult to find ?
When I had an Octave V70se and later the V110 I tried a lot of different input - splitter  and power tubes. I always preferred the sound of vintage/out of production tubes. With some the difference in sound was huge and in others not so much. As f...
$3000 Speaker Search
I know you mentioned floor standers but if you have the opportunity to demo the new Dyn S40's (stand mount) you may be very surprised how big they sound for being a monitor. MSRP for the S40 is 3K but not sure what the stand6 retails for. I had Dy...
DYNAUDIO C4 VS B&W 800 D3
I disagree with Todd regarding toe in for Dyn's. For the best sound stage and imaging you would want little to no toe in. Dyn tweeters have a very wide dispersion. I had demoed C2's in my home (still to big) but found they sounded best to me with ...
DYNAUDIO C4 VS B&W 800 D3
I'm from the camp that get the speaker first. They all have a general 'house' sound. Find the sound that suits you the best. Then worry about an amp to help refine the sound. IMO both the B&W and Dynaudio are fine speakers but very different s...
Blue Fuse for Primare Pre32
Never tried that.
Blue Fuse for Primare Pre32
They also state that the fuse is directional. So try it both ways. I know it sounds strange but just before I put the original back in I reversed mine and it sounded like the stock fuse. I will wait a while before upgrading to the blue as I just u...
Blue Fuse for Primare Pre32
Took a good 75 hrs to break in for starters. What impressed me the most was a slightly better control of the music overall. Kind of like moving up to the next level of power cord without the huge expense. To verify what I heard I put the stock fus...
Blue Fuse for Primare Pre32
That's a 2 amp slow blow fuse rated at 250V. 250mA would be too small a rating. You should get the exact rated and sized fuse that you currently have. Not go bigger or smaller as rated and never go fast blow in place of slow blow or visa versa. As ...
Power Cords
Ricred1 If you have a Raidho dealer nearby you should check out Ansuz. There is a new V2 that has just been released for the Aluminum/Ceramic/Diamond line. The Aluminum V2 is pretty much in your price range. BTW there is no aluminum in the cables....
Speakers for my car
+1 for Dynaudio
Matching octave with audio physics codex speaker
As an ex Octave V70se/V110 owner I have to highly recommend the super black box with those speakers. It lowers the noise floor and gives a hair more headroom.
Focal sopra 2 or raidho d2?
Disclaimer - Raidho owner here2 very different speakers/sound. Focals will need a larger room. Raidho D2's work much better in smaller rooms because they are a more near field speaker. The D2's should be about 9ft or more apart to sound the best. ...
Raidho speakers..any interest ??
@kin Funny you mention diamond feet. I was never a believer until my local dealer brought over a pair of D2.1’s w/diamond feet for me to demo and break in. I currently had D2’s. After a couple of weeks I asked him to bring over the standard feet a...
Using contact cleaner in tube sockets
Could also be a loose pin in the socket. I had that same problem in an Octave V70se and it was loose pins in one socket
Raidho speakers..any interest ??
I have D2.1's driven by an Aavik U300. Before I had the U300 I had D2's powered by an Octave V110 integrated tube amp. The Octave was really good until you pushed it. The lows just fell apart. Then I got the Aavik.@cronoglidesky As far as the U300...
