Ascend Sierra 1s to Harbeth 7ES-3s?
IMO, the Harbeth midrange is neither lush nor romantic - more natural and clear. But Harbeth does a nice balance of the accuracy and musicality, so that might very well appeal to you!

Nearfield Upgrade?
Hey Andy - I recently picked up a pair of P3's. I'm not sure if they'll be an upgrade to your ears to the Spendors, but I preferred the Harbeths. BTW, the P3's aren't ported, so placement is easy. I think they're one of the best near field monitors.

Amp Suggestions for Harbeth C7es3
Definitely P3's... I'm in an 11'x18' room and switched from Ohm MicroTalls to the Harbeth P3ESR. Even those little Ohms overloaded the room. The Harbeths are the perfect size - incredible little speakers.
