Any new turntable brands we should pay attention to ?

Let's say those that appeared within the last five years or so.
Pear Audio appears to be one of them.

The Shindo Garrard and the Palmer 2.5 are quite nice, not inexpensive or affordable by any stretch...although it might be difficult to track down the Shindo Garrard 301.
I don't know if they have been out for over 5 years but Shinola Runwell turntables look like a solid design to me. I think they partnered with VPI for the basic design.

Probably the company wants the table to appeal to a younger generation of audiophiles. How many people under 40 yrs old know what a phono preamplifier does? Not to mention the fact that for 30+ years HT receivers did not even offer a preamp as a option for turntables. Now a great many do offer it.
BTW If i had a notion to get back into vinyl and I had $10k laying around the house I would consider the Shindo Garrard or the Palmer turntable.
