I cannot speak for the Classe other than I know it is very fine gear. I did, however own a D300 years ago and I wish I would have never sold it. At the time I was driving a pair of Magnepan MG 1.6 and I switched off between the ARC and several other amps by Bryston, McCormack, etc. Although they were all fine amps, I thought the D300 had such power (seemingly endless) and control over the speakers, that I stuck with it and got rid of the others. Then later on when I sold the 1.6's I had no need for such a powerful amp, so I sold the D300 and I regret it to this day. Although I have not owned and auditioned as many amps as others in this forum, I have tried a few over the years by reputable manufacturers and I believe the D300 was the best sounding Solid State Amp I have owned. I know this is a bold statement, and it is just my opinion based on my limited experience, but I believe it is a very fine amp.
