The 'like' wars... I know them from a car site. NO, please no likes.The guys on the 'black goo' tread would be high fivving each other like crazy. Ditto the $599 magic paper maniacs. The madness of crowds....

I certainly need an IGNORE feature for black goo and magic paper maniacs!             
It is amazing.. I mean get any three audiophiles together and they will be disagreeing. The mystery of how a whole crowd of usually isolated bitter audiophiles can suddenly all agree on something?? Smacks of mass hysteria. Sorry I plan on staying far far away from anything that acts like a panacea of all ills. Which is what the black goo is advertised and the reports.. "Paint black goo on you toilet bowl, relieves constipation" sort of stuff. Put the card in your HAT think clearly for the first time... LOL Ditto double the magic paper. Not for me. I can hypnotize MYSELF for way less money. If YOU need to spend money to bamboozle yourself. OK by me. Note I refused to take some FOR FREE... I just am not interested in the magical fantasy. Glad YOU found some way to entertain yourself though.                      
And finally, the fact is, the Black goo and magic paper folks HAVE TO try to stop all whining. Otherwise a few of the  hypnotized might wake up and realize it was all just an illusion. Can't have naysayers or the suckered might wake up!   If the products really work. Why the FEAR? Why the need, the requirement to stifle all criticism??True believers..  That need by raving followers to shut down all criticism just makes it even clearer that the products are all just a fantasy being played out. If the products do work, then who cares about any dissent? Not even a worry. But is it is all just smoke and mirrors, than any criticism is a big problem. So you guys trying to 'protect' the junk being offered are really just making it clear it really is just a steaming pile.

How can one determine if something is "smoke and mirrors" when they haven't tried the items at issue for themselves? It makes no sense to me at all. What am I missing here?

Just how would it work?

How could you just ignore posts by certain users within the confines of a thread? That thread would likely be nonsense without those posts as much as may dislike them.

Questions answered: no cat, wild guess?, no clue, Nonsense to me either, common sense?, yes, yes definitely big dose...       
It can't work., easy, don't read them, true.             

@yyzsantabarbara ...ignore simply means you do not get to see what they post, not that they cannot see what you post. Wake up, how long you been online?
As for augon mods dealing with the spam, have you ever had a web page you designed yourself? It's not a template someone else constructed.

@mental You got the definition of IGNORE that I referenced correct. I do not want to see tons of post, especially arguments on threads. I would rather skip them or have them compressed. I could not care less if these same IGNORED people  see my posts. They can IGNORE me if they want. Normally when I am online I try to stay awake.

Not sure what your point is on the web page. I have created SECURE web sites for business for decades. What I wrote above is a very easy way to control the SPAM problem. It is clearly stated, if you have some software programming background, you should understand what I wrote.

Then you should offer your knowledge/service and help them with the code.
Personally, you do not want to know what I think.
This is a site that generates income, that means all the traffic it can gather. This is the forum side where everyone vents, I know they are trying their best to curb the spam.
Be patient, or code it for them.

I’m with Elizabeth on this. The MAIN problem, as I see it, is the ever present and excessive misinformation distributed here. But, as in real life (is audiophilia real life?) it is important to separate the wheat from the chaff. The better informed, the easier this is to do. Luck favors the prepared mind. Life is full of spam and has been since recorded time began. The key is not to respond to it or give it validity.

My interpretation of that Sun Tzu maxim - he is full of fear, everyone is the enemy.
