Pretty tough to go wrong either way with these choices. I have extensive experience with the Vega, and I have not been able to find a better DAC under $10K. It is really good and has a fantastic USB input.
The DS I have only heard recently at a friends house, and it did some things well too, being familiar with his system, but the Vega in my system, has a deeper soundstage with very prevalent layering of the performance, and a very seductive vocal presentation. The Vega is not your typical ESS Sabre DAC.
