There are spec adjustments which can be made. And I think you are correct about your player.
Some just are not set properly by specs. I would guess some just cannot.
So your player may have actually been sold because of that fault.Who knows.
(Like a player claimed by seller as new.. (except then he mentions the next disc button on the machine does not work, you have to use the remote.. Ahh DUDE, that is not "AS NEW")
Folks have a habit of 'forgetting' to mention or remember small problems when it sure looks new..
