Car MS1 problems

Does anyone who has the Cary MS1 music server had any issues with the HD or connectivity problems? I have had a HD crash and now my recently repaired unit is acting the same as the other just prior to the crash. The unit is not connecting to the network and is not backing up the files via the secondary usb HD. Also, the fan is running all the time. I have never seen the unit run normally, so I do not have any idea of what is normal for this unit.
When it does work, it sounds fantastic through the Xciter usb dac. Any help would be appreciated.
