Clear Days are 99.99% silvers. Have not experienced Neotech or Siltech since I do not have a budget for those. But read this thread. |

I stand corrected. Clear Day cables are .99975% silver and not .99% that I incorrectly mentioned above. |
One has to pay attention to cable gauge, length of cable, power output of amp and speaker efficiency when determining single or double runs of Clear Day speaker cables.
I found out that the 16 gauge Tempo Electric speaker cables were fine with my Tonian Labs TL-D1s but they imparted a hooded effect to the highs and fattened the mids and bass, giving it wooly quality when paired with my new Clearwave Duets. They are high purity silver as well.
Going back to my Clear Day single run speaker cables (24 gauge?) was a match made in heaven. I remember trying out both the single and shotgun (double run) of the Clear Days and the shotgun version imparted that same hooded and fattening quality so care needs to be taken as what works for one set up won't necessarily work in another. Both the Tempo Electric and Clear Days are 8' lengths.
Just my two cents worth, for what it's worth, since it only cost me two cents.

Clear Day cables are awesome. They have replaced Morrow SP-6 with Eichmann silver bullet connectors- the Morrows are very good. The Clear Days blow them out of the water on my system. I have 2 sets of the singles for tweeter and midrange, and a double set for the woofers. |
What kind of music are you Clear Day fans listening to?
I have a pr of double shotguns I like, they are detail champions but at the end of the day they lack the upper-bass, lower mid harmonics that are all important in classical music.
And do so on my Gallos. Totems, MMG's and Triangles. |

Last weekend I put on Beethoven's 9th and was floored by the upper bass and lower mids that I got and I use just the single run Clear Day speaker cables. I've never heard the strings growl as they did with such tone, nuance and effect and with such clarity. That leaves me a bit surprised that on three different speakers you're not getting the harmonics you desire.
This leads me to ask, have your tried the single run version?
I ask this because when I auditioned the Clear Day cables, I tried both the single and shotgun versions and though the shotgun versions added more weight, they also clouded up things a bit for my tastes.

I discussed with Paul on which Clear Day to use. From that discussion it looks like if you have a high sensitive speaker and if you use a shotgun or double shotgun, then basically you are killing the music. This config works only in a moderate to low sensitivity speakers. What speakers and amplifiers do you use Schubert? |
Primarly I use the Clear Day double shotgun on 2 speakers,
I. Meadowlark Kestrel 2 @ 89db
2. Gallo CL-3 @ 88db, though I believe they are about 90 in my room. A review had them at 91.
Both are minimal crossover as in 1 cap ,time aligned, and transmission lines, which is what I look for in speaker.
Both are easy to drive with good dynamics.
I use a Response Audio Bella 60watt 6550 tube amp and a 225
watt Van Alstine Synergy 450 which is very good in bass-lower mids. Pre is an EE Avant or Bryston BP-6 |
My speakers are a bit more of a load than what your speakers are - at 88db 6 ohms. And they really are. With the previous NAD integrated, they used to sound anemic. With the A21, they found fabulous.
Why don't you email Paul and ask if he can lend you shotguns (instead of double). See if that works in your system. |

Just another endorsement for Clear Day Double Shotgun speaker cables. Two pairs replaced Harmonic Technology Melodyline shotgun biwire cables between our Soderberg updated Threshold Stasis 2 and our B&W Matrix 801 Series 2 (with Van Alstine mods but with intact woofer Zobel circuit!) speakers.
The Clear Day cables are much superior in every way; most notably in resolution of inner detail, frequency extension and most impressive of all, once completely burned in, which took 100+ hours in my experience, disappearing from the act of sound reproduction altogether as the midrange bloom...well, blooms.
All in all, a remarkable audio component in it's ability to de-electronify sound reproduction, allowing organic, real sounding music to come through...which is a remarkable achievement for any audio component. |
Have used with these cables in both of my systems over the last 4 years and have found no syngery issues whether the speakers have been Tyler Acoustics (3 different models) JM Reynaud Offrande Supremes, Daedalus Argos V2; and whether its been a solid state or tube amp - Plinius 8200, Ayon Spirit 2 tube integrated; Modwright LS100 pre & KWA 100SE power amp. I recently received a pair of the double shot guns to try in my system from Paul. my current ones were Kimber 12Tc. I run all Arc tubes and my speakers are Infinity Irs Betas. These are going on the mid/high towers.Right away after hooking them up there was a huge difference. Much better highs,awesome midrange and just a much much better sound.I must say I was amazed at the difference. A great product at a great price. |
Another fan of Clear Day cables here... I have a pair of double shotguns that replaced far more expensive Acoustic Zen's. They are fantastic cables and Paul is one of the most sincere and honest people I've ever dealt with in audio. |
How do they compare to Crystal Clear Magnum Opus? |
Any more impressions? Especially interested in anyone that has compared these to Cardas speaker cables. |
Dave_72. Remember all cables sound different in different systems. After trying 35/40 pair of cables from every level of their offereings, I too have stayed with ClearDay. As I read the above posts they say how good these cables sound for the money.....well, money was not an issue for ME, and I am in the Clear Day camp.

My System is very good sounding and let me know every little detail (Tube Amps), and Goldmund Dialogue Speakers, these are pricise instruments...!
The Double Shutgun cable I used 3 months. Then I reconnected my old cable again, the Goertz MI-2. The difference is clear. What I missed was boddy and fundament in the middle layer and layer. That can only good copper cables The Shotgun sounds much detail in high and middle, however low, real bass are not there. Paul is maybe a nice guy, but how the cable could turn he does/can not specify enough. I could not send back the cables, because I live in Europe.
But I sold him happy soon. For me no more Silver Cable.
The bass-tone’s are only very real, nature, whit copper material.

Dave72 this cables posses good inner detail without brightness, on a neutral side, they are very close on my Heimdall 2 speaker cables, they are a bit slower than my H2, overall this cables are very very good. |
