First I would drop Michael a line - he is a very friendly and helpful person though I understand that at this point he has "retired" from the biz.
The basic rule of thumb is to use the same metal in the plugs as you do in the cable. I suspect that this matters more with interconnects and speaker cables then with AC cords
In the Furutech line I would go with the F-11. They have a gold male and a silver female (makes no sense to me either so check around). Obviously silver at both ends would be nice.
I have owned Michael's cables and one of the really great things about them is that they are very soft and not at all bulky. I like the size of the F11 with them.
And you will come in a bit under your budget.
