Getting a accurate db reading OUTSIDE

My friends and I have started a motocross track and we are putting in a PA system. Is there a particular way to get accurate db measurements at various points on the track and stands other than the obvious spl meter? I worry about wind noise messing up the spl readings in such an uncontrolled environment. If anyone has any history in this area I'd appreciate your help greatly. THANKS
