Interesting thought- Linn &

Pasinee, on Youtube, has recordings of a Radikal LP12, albeit with maxed-out arm and cartridge, if you want to hear one.

What I object to is Arthur Salvatore's assertion that Linn simplifies the music.  While Normansizemore's description of rolling the extremes might be a better description, if that's true, getting the intent of what the musicians are trying to convey is just as, if not more, important than getting all the notes(etc.) correct(in most cases).  I did listen to needle drops on the Pink Fish Media, and none of the other tables were as good as the best Linn.  Many tables were left out. but to give some perspective, that cheaper dd Technics wasn't in the same league as the Linn, although you could hear improvements in it, when he upgraded its parts.

bdp24, I just wanted to dispell the notion, that just because you hear a note on one system, that that system is more accurate than one where you don't hear that note.

I suspect most listeners who think the Linn lp12 is colored, would change their mind, if they heard it with Radikal(their dc motor upgrade).  For me, besides the price preventing my upgrade, the diminishing of background noise(due to the ac motor affecting the cartridge) is something that interests me.  I could easily live with John's needle drops on Pink Fish Media, so there's still hope for this non-lottery winner.  John had Lingo(I think.) and the ac motor.

I'm convinced enough to, at least, audition the Radikal.  Now, if the funds would arrive....  I also have enough other things to improve in my analog playback, before I have to consider it.
