Musical Fidelity a308 vs. a1008 integrated amps

Has anyone got a preference or advice? The a1008 has an xtra 100watts per ch. it has a 'tube pre" but I was wondering if this was more gimmick or if it really delivered a tube like sound. I like my a308 very much but I'm wondering if the xtra watts and the tube were worth it. I'm using dynaudio focus mk2's and my source is an oppo 95. Thanks!
