Responding to Shadow... Yes sometimes we screw up. Sometimes we are buried in orders. We try to service our customers as well as possible. I was contacted that "the heatshrink had come loose" on his speaker cables. I got the cables back and both spades on the same channel had been torn off. When I wrote him to find out what gives he responded "Well the heatshrink IS loose..." If you got into a front end collision in your car at 40 mph and called a body shop and said "I have a paint chip on my hood..." and then had the car towed in, they might have a few questions. Still the cables are on their way back and working as new. We are trying to be better at communication. Still our weakness and my bad. I would never keep a customer's cable, however. |
Big news! We figured out how to make Matrix Interconnects up to 4 Meters in length. OMG are they a pain to make but they sound as good as 1 Meters. If you are interested email me. We will be adding them to the website... again thanks.... Bob CT |
Just want to wish all a very Merry Christmas and thank you all for the kind words. Ozzy...I am going to get you on those Matrix power cords! Hugs. Bob Cerious Technologies |
I have tried it and it works great... Bob |
Hi everybody...Bob from Cerious. Yes we do offer two different versions of the Matrix interconnects ; "Standard" which has no damping jacket and look much like Graphene Extreme on the outside, and "Damping Squared" which employs a sophisticated damping jacket. The Standard are cheaper ($999 pair vs $1249 pair RCA) and more flexible, but the Damping Squared sound better. Best guess the Standard are 90% of the DS. As Audiophiles we know that the last 10% is the hardest to achieve and the most costly. So far we have sold the Damping Squared as most are upgrading from GE. If I pushed the Standard, customers would ask me why I sold them this when there is something "Better" out there. I always recommend to go with the DS version simply because it is the ultimate expression of the Matrix line. Orders: yes we are currently slow. I moved my son from Michigan shortly before Christmas to join the company and help with production. Teaching and training slows down the process but will - in the long run - enable me to focus on things like communication which clearly everyone would appreciate(!). We assumed that with the introduction of Matrix that it would take some wind out of the sails of Graphene Extreme, but nothing could be further from the truth - sales have only increased on the GE. Believe me we are working long hours to get out PERFECT Matrix line cables and will get faster. It is tough to track who has posted discussing delays as posting IDs are different than names and trying to figure out who is who is a brain teaser. Just write me at rgrost@cerioustechnologies.com or call 623-703-9771 (especially you John!) and I will try to be available to answer the phone. The Matrix is worth the wait and we are going absolutely as fast as we can but never compromising quality. Thank you so much and Happy New Year! Bob CT |
Thank you for the feedback on the website. My daughter is the designer and I am flying her in to Phoenix in 10 days to "flesh out" the site. I will take any feedback you may have Ceriously and will attempt to make you all as happy as possible... Bob CT |
Let me know your reactions on lifting the Matrix off the floor. I really have to do my evaluations with it sitting on the floor, as that is how most will experience it. If you find it helps I will design something really cool you can diy... Bob Grost |
Bob from Cerious: We are shutting down for the next week August 12-19 for vacation. Need to re-charge and get organized again. Thank you all so much and will check emails from time to time! Bob |
Glad to hear you are a happy customer. It makes the job of making a 12 foot Matrix power cord worth it! Hint...making a 12 footer is not a simple task. I know...WAH...WAH...Wah...It will get way better as it settles, too. Bob CT |
I am now staring at a Matrix power cord wrapped neatly around a 4" in diameter (2" radius) cylinder. This is very flexible. I think the problem is that customers need the cables to kink almost immediately as it comes out of the connector because equipment is pushed so close to the wall. With over 40 years experience and setting up around 500 systems in my life I can tell you that you do want your equipment or cables pushed right up against a wall. Walls have all sorts of crap running through them - AC, digital cable, and other things that wreak havoc on audio systems. Pull your rack out 6" and all these problems go away. It will also help with the nightmare of hooking up new equipment. The nature of the Matrix conductors and damping jackets is outlined on our website. "Metallurgy" does not apply, as they are a sophisticated composite. Thanks everybody! Bob CT |

Just to let everyone know I have pulled all the ads for the trade in Graphene Extreme. All I got was questions, questions, questions with "customers" (you really cannot call someone a customer who never buys anything) trying to finagle a deal. "How much is shipping for the GE power cord?". "$8.00...that is great...I will take it". "Oh BTW I live in South Korea and $8.00 shipping is great. I didn't mention I live in Korea when I asked for shipping costs because I didn't see how it was relevant...". "Oh BTW, we use Schuko connectors here...I assume these come with Schuko connectors. If not you will have to pull the connectors off of these and put on new Schuko connectors before you send them to me." I was spending more time dealing with stuff like this than filling Matrix orders. No more...totally fed up. I will give it to friends for free. I will still gladly accept orders for new Graphene Extreme. If you are a repeat customer talk to me and I will take care of you on the trade ins (Not for FREE, though...). Sorry to vent but OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes...I am still here! The actual gauge of the power cords, as with all of our cables are difficult to specify. Gauge standards are specific to wire based conductors. A pure Graphene conductor, for example, is about 1,000,000,000 gauge, but has lower resistance than a pure Silver wire the diameter of a basketball. We employ wire based backbones of 9 gauge, then add Carbon Fiber, Graphene, and Liquid Ceramic. What does this come out to in wire based terms? No idea. You cannot express composite conductors in terms that do not apply. There simply is no standard for composite conductors because everything is based on data used to computer model materials and cutting edge composites cannot be modeled because they are too radical and no data exists. This is why composites used in commercial airliners are 25 year old, because they can only model materials they have extensive history and data for. I model everything in my head and do no prototypes. The first Matrix cables produced were direct to production. I plugged them in and verified "Yep...that is what they are supposed to perform like." "Let's go..." As some brilliant Audiophile once said "The proof is in the lisnin..." Thanks! Bob CT |
I prefer "Sonic Hologram Projector..." That sounds REALLY expensive. Bob CT |
Hi Everybody, I am posting to apologize, as I went to China for 10 days to meet with suppliers and also some fun. Before I went I forwarded all my business email to my personal gmail account, which I found out is blocked by the Chinese government. Everything Google is blocked in China! I am back and catching up as quick as I can. Thanks to everyone for their patience! Perhaps Tiger Woods will pay me to go back so he can win again... Bob |
Yep...who needs to go to the gym when can just lift huge bags of money to keep in shape. The bags read "Bank of the Land of OZ..." on them!

Hi everybody...Bob from Cerious... Connectors are such a pain. Everyone has a favorite! We try to offer the best possible performance at the lowest cost. We demand intrinsic value. Many connectors today are little more than jewelry and are actually more poorly made than the knock offs that cost 1/10 the price. We do not use Viborg connectors. We do have our connectors custom made by the parent company to our parameters of plating and clearances. It is fascinating to deal with Chinese companies who can make anything you want - you just have to be very specific about what you want. Now...addressing Furutech connectors. I have never had an experience with Furutech connectors that was positive. While it is impressive to polish the internal metal parts to a high shine, the parts of the connector that screw together to clamp the connector housing in place over the cable so it does not spin requires some friction only available with a rough surface. My son had to reef on the connector to get it even close to being stable. It still had movement and wound up shorting by how much pressure was exerted on the internal conductors. Those of you who have dealt with us in the past know that we go more than the extra mile to take care of our customers. We can no longer deal with Furutech connectors. Just too difficult to work with in the configuration of the Matrix conductors and damping jacket. Thanks everybody! Bob |
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Bob CT |
Happy Cyber Monday everybody! This is Bob from Cerious Technologies. Well you asked for it and here it is. Cyber Monday deal, buy one Graphene Matrix power cord at the regular price and get a second one for HALF price! The half price cord can be any of equal or shorter length than the first. So...No...you cannot buy a 3 foot cord at regular price and get a 16 foot cord for half price. The Black Friday blowout of Graphene Extreme is going great so feel free to add to the insanity. Thank you all so much and we have an ad on Audiogon or you can contact us directly. Bob CT |
Sorry about the ad disappearing...My darn customers keep on buying! You GUYS... I will offer this deal through Christmas to repeat customers and another week for newbies. You can just email me directly. We are going a little crazy here but all in a good way... Bob Cerious Technologies |
Hi Everyone, A quick note on why the Matrix sounds the same in different lengths. Most traditional cables are mass produced in a spool and this wire is them spooled off and cut to length. So...each length will sound different. Since we hand make each conductor, we computer model each conductor at each length and build it to the exact model length. In simpler terms, we make each conductor differently varying by length. The "mix" of components and gauge of metal based conductors will vary by how long it is. We design and construct cables to perform in a specific manner and dial in the parameters of each conductor to ensure they all perform like a Matrix conductor should each and every time. This is the ONLY way to ensure that you have a cable that performs the way as designed. Otherwise you get to play Goldilocks with lengths until you find one that is "just right..." Bob CT |

Hi Everyone, Bob from Cerious. What am I working on? I am working on developing a USB cable, but am trying to deal with the shortcomings of the USB interface. Basically my cables are exposing flaws in the medium that render music "analytical" rather than the organic sound you have come to expect from Cerious and just not a sound I want to listen to for extended periods. The root problem is the +5V going through the cable which is noisy coming from the computer or source device. I have solved this by generating a separate +5V in place of the normal voltage but I have never produced a powered cable before so am working on packaging and despite how pricey the Matrix is I strive for sanity in pricing. Will keep you posted. My wife has ordered me to upgrade our entire system as we went to a friend's house who has the latest ReacT speakers we made several years ago with analog front end and one of my custom racks that feature reactive damping and Carbon Fiber main structure. She ordered me to buy a top of the line VPI turntable, build us a custom rack, and custom ReacT speakers with subwoofers good to 15 Hertz (she is a bass freak...who knew?). Women can be so demanding! Oh and I need to make us custom amps because she likes to listen to rock concerts at rock concert levels (who knew?). God I love this woman... So I will be busy for a while so no need to worry that the Matrix will be obsolete anytime soon. Hugs...and keep warm! |
I guess I am changing Internet service providers. Three help tickets and no communication and no website. Will keep you posted. Please email me to my personal rgrost@gmail.com... Bob CT |
I have heard of problems with the website but it has come right up when I checked it. I sure hope we are not out of business! It would be hard to explain why we have so many orders... |
I was just contacted by my web master and there is a problem. We are working on it and will keep you posted...thanks! Bob |
