Speaker cables being pricier than main speakers

I was just wondering if there is anybody out there with their speaker cables being more expensive than the speakers itself. Although it may seem unwise or unjustified to have the cables pricier than the speakers as one could always upgrade to a more substantial or better pair of speakers, I always had this crazy idea of having the Nordost Valhallas permanently with my speakers, but then I could get a whole lot more upgrading the speakers rather than the cable.

My speaker cables cost about 1/4 the price of my speakers.

Just curious.

Spent $2000. for a pair of $2500 demo B&W 805s with $600 B&W stands tossed in for free.
Spent $10 to fill and seal the stands.
Spent $200 on new wire Kimber TC8 biwired 6 wires for low, sigle pair for high , and connectors on hand did the job.
(The connectors on hand, 6 pair of $20 each WBT with sleeves) So my ends cost more than my wires... does that count for anything?
If I would have had to buy connectors, I probably would have bought spades for $20 total...
Anyway, I "spent" 10% of the cost on wire. I don't count the very expensive connectors, as I just had them laying around?
Anyway, The idea of spending a lot on cables is crazy, unless you got money to burn...
