Speakers for quality listening & occasional party

Hi All,

I just upgraded to a NAD c370 amp and I want to find speakers to match. I am no audiophile but I've been training my ears to enjoy quality music. I am looking for speakers that can handle the occasional dance party as well as the the variety of music I liten to.

I am on a fairly tight budget - say 500$

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

J

Meadowlark Swifts would work well for you provided that you don't require tons of bass for your dance music. The used asking prices are typically $600 to $700, and I believe that represents a good value.

Good luck!
Find you a pair of NHT 2.5i's or even a pair of 2.9's. The 370 can drive them, they are both fairly accurate in hifi terms and they will play loud with good bass.
The Merlin VSM's retail for 6K - way out of my budget. Was there another model you were refering too.

Thanks,

-J
If you are going to party you need bass. Look for a used pair of Vandersteen 2ci's or possibly 2ce. Very good to listen to and have plenty of slam for that party.
