Check Norh.com, they carry differrent types of
speakers, they are good and reasonably price,
I own the 6.9 speakers.
Spend $1500 on Soliquoy Sat-5's and buy your wife a really nice rug or tapestry for the remaining $500. If you have to, buy even less expensive speakers and buy both the tapestry and an area rug.
Nothing will sound good if you don't dampen the sound.
Also, don't forget a decent sub!
Take a look at the Anthony Gallos and also Acoustic Energy Esprit line. They both would be good matches for the Denon.
One other consideration is the Energy Connisour (spelling) line. They are very dynamic for the money I have the C3's in my garage and they rock for a book shelf.
Totem Dreamcatcher system. I they can be had for just under $2000 new and that does include a powered sub.

I second that all caps makes it harder to read.
