Yes, I also looked into that cd and I beleive it's out of print due to legality issues unfortunatly, thanks to the record industry. This is why they want alot of $$ for it.

Traveling Wilburys? What gives?
Thanks guys. Well, here goes. Is anyone willing to either make me a copy or sell it at a reasonable price ($15-20)? I'd love to get it on LP, but I don't yet have a tt. That's next on the list, followed by adding a subwoofer. Or does anyone have any concrete knowledge of whether or not it's going to be re-released? |
What makes Nickel Creek is the mandolin player, plain and simple. The brother sister guitar and fiddle team are fine musicians, don't get me wrong, but where neither of them are the "next big thing" on their instruments, the mando player actually is (Chris Thiel... I think that's right; don't have it handy). He is to the mandolin what Jerry Douglas was to the dobro or Tony Rice to the bluegrass lead guitar. I can't imagine what he'll be like by the time he hits 30. |
Thanks for the info and my apologies for the delayed follow-up. Nickel Creek was AWESOME. I have to agree with the above regarding the level of talent. It's amazing how much Chris Thiele (sp?) carries the group. He is an incredible talent. To add to the analogy Midwestcoast, I think he is to the mandolin as Bela Fleck is to the banjo. Not only is he technically near perfect, but also posesses the creativity to completely redefine the instrument. Another poster contacted me privately with a website where I can purchase the whole library "new" for not a whole lotta' money. Thank you though to the rest of you who were so kind to offer a copy. I appreciate it. |
You can get just about anything you please on E-bay. - as evidence by the 45 hits for the TWs. |
