Houston, Delaware living in a Futuro house since 1977 and this is where I will stay till the day I die.I have had many sound systems and home theater for watching opera.I finally settled for Magnepan speakers driven by 833-A triodes (It takes these quart-size tubes to drive Magnepans) and after hearing this combination I lost all interest - except as a spectator - in owning any other system. I design and build my own amps and preamps which I like better than the limited choices of some very good equipment I could buy even if I could afford it.

@schubert, Robert Fulton's incredible Ark Records recordings were of local amateur Minneapolis choral groups and church organists. Sonically, they are amongst the best recordings I have ever heard, and are musically charming. |
Geez all of you audiophools live all over the place. Very Nice indeed. For those of you in the NYC area I will be reaching out to you to invite you for a listen at a local dealer in northern New Jersey if you don't mind me doing so. I will be launching my audio products then so you are all invited for a listen.

The best place in the USA for classic music that is affordable, world class and has some place to park when you get get there , The Twin Cities . Also the only place(?) in USA where you can buy an entire high-end system built where you live ! Magnepan,ARC,Bel Canto,Van Alstine , Atmasphere . Anti-Cable,Scmitt Cables And if you really need a TT you can just drop into Needle Doctor .
Also, the excellent 24/7 Jazz station 88.5 has the largest per-capita share of listening market share audience of ANY city in the USA . So you know the folks are hip !And believe it or not, the jazz station is owned by the Minneapolis School Board .

I'm in the Navy. At the moment I'm based in Japan. Japan has these interesting stores called "hard-off" which always seem to have rare and esoteric hi-fi equipment. I got a Technics SE-A3 amplifier and 3 way set of Goto Unit horn drivers for very reasonable prices. Soon I'll be transferring to Norfolk VA and hopefully there will be some sort of audiophile community there I can get with. |
SoCal, Orange County, Irvine. 71 degrees today and sunny but damn it gets down to 47 at night! |
